Why would Snake shoot himself in the mouth with a /tranquilizer/? Seriously, man. Stop being in denial, or at least find a smarter explination, like, say, he never shoots himself in the mouth and Kojima was just being an ass by adding a gunshot.
But it's obvious he's not trapped, like Naked Snake was in Snake Eater. He's an old guy about to die, who's most-likely just fufilled his purpose as a soldier. I mean, come on--he must be in pain. Maybe he wants to end it quickly (I just hope he doesn't do it).
To those people who thinks Snake will die, trust me, you only play as Snake in this game, not anyone else (except for online), and cmon, would Hideo really give away the ending to what will be the greatest MGS game in the whole series? I really doubt it. About the movie, it looks great, I can't wait for MGS4, the only problem is going to be getting a PS3, anyway, good movie.

Snake kills Meryl, leaving Ocelot and Snake having a duel for the ages. A M9 vs Revolver. I type this after seeing this and the 15 minute trailer @ konami.com I will predict a 07/07/2007 release because it will be twenty years since the first metal gear was released
i must agree that Raiden looks pretty badass as the new cyborg Ninja. Snake is looking hella messed up. as for him killing himself...i hope thats just a teaser cuz it would be pretty lame to show his fate when its far from being out yet.
Holy crap at Raiden being more a badass(that’s right Raiden was badass in MGS2)glad to see Naomi and Colonel Campbell finally in person and also we get to find out what happen to Meryl these past absent years. Overall looks like it's going to be a great game the only draw back is the expensive $600(I'm sure most of use want to pay the bills and eat).I'm a bit disappointed at the end where the game went the mutli screen and Snake killing himself =(.
i'm so glad Naomi's and Meryl's models changed for the final game, they look much much better now than they do in this trailer.
