  • Saul Goodman on drums, yo!

  • OMG it's Daniel Day-Lewis!!!!

  • Andy Dick is playing Adam Clayton hahahahaha WOW. I'm actually amazed at the detail with which Ben parodies Rattle & Hum, must be a fan.

  • I too am sick of what's going on inNoIthern reland. I"m really sick of it. I know whats really going on.......you don't

  • Would anyone happen to have the Ben Stiller parody of: 'Where the Streets Have No Name' ?

I believe he had re-titled it: 'Where the Streets Know My Name'

  • @RockJunkie04 - oh yeah, I saw that during the 'MTV 30' thing - first time I actually laughed non stop for 15 minutes!

  • 'Edge', that ain't the blues, LOL!

  • Bullet the Blue Sky at a Bar Mitzvah... This made my day!

  • I was waiting for the 'and I'll tell you something else....'

The Ben Stiller show aired around 92 didn't it? If it did I reckon he pretty much nailed the rockumentary. Love the random lightbulb shot during Bono's interview.

  • It's funny. I loved the Ben Stiller show. Most of the sketches anyway but I'm not a fan of most of Ben Stiller's movies. I just can't stand 'em. It's weird that way.

Now he could make fun of that Spider-man disaster they are doing. That'd be funny.

  • Stiller's show was incredibly funny!!!

    LOL!!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • That was fucking cool! Bono's a bit of a twat, really.

  • what the name of that jew song that the edge plays?

  • @Duckcedes Hava Nagila. It means lets rejoyce.

  • @Duckcedes Aba nagilah

  • total crap...not funny

  • crap

  • Has ben dipshit ever been funny?

  • dick stiller

  • Bono doesn't have much of an Irish accent (brogue for those in the know) himself. It's understandable since it seems like he makes a rare appearance in Ireland to see his family every now and then between New York and France. If you're American and can understand it, it aint a good brogue. Regardless, Stiller captured the essence of 80s Bono in this sketch. It's a brilliant 2 minutes.

  • u2 sucks but the partridge family rocked

  • LMAO wtf

  • haha i love after he sends the kid down Bono goes and says "Im sick and tired of whats going on in Northern Ireland" haha

  • Worst version of Bullet The Blue Sky EVER!!!!

  • rofl it's hilarious how indignant the kid is when he's up on stage - and the slow pan across the room of old jews. i love this sketch even though stillers accent is slack it's still ingenious

  • Jesus is that supposed to be an Irish accent?

  • HEY HEY PEOPLE!! SOMEONE CAN TELL ME WHY THIS GAY (extreme67) IS ON EVERY VID OF U2 I FOUND IN YOUTUBE!!! WHAT THE POINT OF THIS!! and why is spam? someone can explain me all this.?

  • I've seen paint drying that amused me more

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • He's channeling more James Morrison than Paul Hewson, I would say.

  • Pretty funny - especially bono aiming the spotlight over the kid, though, as someone mentioned, this is definitely prime early 90's U2 placed in their early days.

  • he looks EXACTLY like Marillion's lead singer on that stage!! :D

  • This is Shite

  • this is more llike u2 from 1987 not 1980

  • @colpetne, more like mid nineties, not at all the eighties.

  • Im sick of whats going on in northren Ireland hahaha, brilliant..

  • God i hate the old man in the jacket in this sketch. He's such a bad actor!

  • Cmon, haven't you ever seen The Partridge Family?

How can you hate Rubin Kincaid?

  • I'm pretty sure the ben stiller show was made before the wedding singer.

  • Comment removed

  • This was the first sketch from the first episode, which aired in September of 1992.

The Wedding Singer came out in 1998.

  • hahahahhahaHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!

you pulled all of that out of your ass? you fucken cockstain how about you woo us with some real knowledge or not comment at all..

  • We are just a bunch of stupid cowards who couldnt resist all the gifts and couldnt be brave enough to expose the illuminati NWO and Bono couldnt be man enuff to quit being apart of all the game! So fans dont go to their concert this year cos your money is going towards a controlled fashist state no kidding type in rock and roll and mindcontrol google bono illuminati

  • @essy111 Looks like its time to up your meds again there freakshow!

  • Tracy Partridge is Way too cool for those pukes!

    Nix This potato breath!

  • But I can hear those fighter plains, I can hear those fighter plains. From the hills of San Salvador...

  • This is probably the funniest thing ever made.

  • lol, the last line was just like bono

  • i really DID laugh out loud.

  • This is hilarious. Way better than SNL.

  • How is it possible this show got canceled and Saturday Night live endures? Writing matters and SNL continues to smell of ass, save for a truly talented performer or two per year who rise above their crap sketches.

Bring back the Ben Stiller Show. I'm sick and tired about what's been going on in (insert country of choice here).

  • Stiller couldn't have kept this up for too long. Maybe 2 seasons. It's just too good.

SNL continues due to lack of anything better. Can you name what's on ABC and CBS at that time? I can't. Yes, Mad TV is on Fox. And sometimes they catch a break like with the Palin/Fey deal this season and get big ratings.

  • Perhaps you're right... I did love Mr. Show however. Perhaps they too, couldn't be that funny for too many years. I think you're being kind to SNL, however, their writing is awful. They pit Harvard grad against Harvard grad and gauge the humor of a skit based on laughs from competing writers... hardly an unbiased crowd.

Additionally, to believe that you have to graduate from Harvard to be funny is in itself laughable. The major issue becomes the belief they're "writing down" to their audience.

  • Stiller claims a fuming Bono called and left a nasty message on his answering machine after seeing this--talk about a classic lampoon, did Bono ever deserve this.

  • A fuming Bono left a nasty message?

On the DVD commentary all Stiller says is that Bono called left a message saying something like, "Watch More TV."

Hardly fuming or nasty. Can't imagine Bono being bothered by this. He probably got a big kick out of it. You can tell Stiller was a big fan and it was just a comedic tribute.

  • Stiller was on a talk show, I think Carson, shortly after it happened and he clearly portrayed Bono as in a bit of a snitt about the parody. This was back in the days when Bono was very sensitive to the teasing he was getting from other rockers about being "Jesus." Frank Zappa nailed him even before Stiller. Stiller now has Russell Crowe upset for writing RobertDowney Jr.'s hilarious send up of him in Tropic Thunder. Like with Bono, Stiller isn't making fun out of respect, he's mocking them.

  • Ok, I get it. You hate Bono. I doubt your memory of the talk show due to obvious bias, but we'll just have to disagree.

Given the detail of this and the "Lucky Clovers" bit, along with the fact that he used the long version of "All I Want Is You" at the most crucial part of "Reality Bites" I can't see how you can come to any other conclusion than he's a big fan of Bono and all his quirks. Not familiar with Zappa's take, but it is obvious Henry Rollins is not a fan and is in fact mocking him.

  • I like Bono, and I'm sure Stiller's a fan, too. But are you trying to say Bono doesn't richly deserve being knocked down a peg from time to time? The man's ego is immense. Take a look at the vid again, Stiller is clearly mocking him.

  • I've watched the video hundreds, if not thousands, of times so I doubt I'll see anything different. Let's see. Nope, still get the same feeling.

If you want to go with "kidding" I'll let that slide. But mocking? No way. As far as his ego, there's no doubt his is enormous, but lines like "Some people have way too much confidence, baby" and pointing to himself show he is quite aware of the fact. And the rest of the band seem to be quite capable of grounding him when necessary.

  • No, watch it just one more time, you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • sooooo fun

  • I love when they parodied Bono. Do you have My U2 Dads?

  • Probably my favorite 2 minutes of television.

    EVER!!

  • "I'll tell ya something else. I'm sick and tired about what's been going on in northern Ireland" LOL

  • HAHAHHAHHA i laughed so hard at this XD

  • It was all so Rattle and Hum!

  • That's Noah Wyle as the boy.

  • No it's not. Noah Wyle was born in 1971, making him certainly too old to be playing a 13-year-old in 1992.

    The kid's totally cute, though.

  • "I don't want to see anybody sitting"

  • If Joel Wasserstein doesn't have fun! Classic!

  • omg!!! same same voice!!

  • I'm a huge U2 fan and this is sooooo hilarious :D :D :D

  • huge U2, but that was hilarious especially edge's solo

  • hahaha ...hilarious!

  • Lmao...

    That spotlight scene is hilarious..

    Thanks for posting this

  • Pretty good...but Edge should have been playing Hava Nagila in sixteenth notes!

  • What's wrong with you people? Are you retarded? Ben Stiller's great at taking the piss out of Bono. Hahaha...that stupid spotlight! Sigh, this cracks me up. And I'm a U2 fan, so don't tell me something dumb like I don't respect them. blah blah. The Ben Stiller Show was wonderful! Look at the crap that's on MTV now. Sad.

  • That's damn funny. And I have to disagree, totally a piss-take, but a very affectionate one.

  • I don't know whether or not to laugh or get pissed because its funny, but Bono is a truly great man, and U2 are a truly great band, i cant think of a more entertaining front man.

  • High time? He did this back in what, '94?

Anyway, Stiller was and is a huge fan of Bono and it's obvious that it's a good natured tribute. And Bono got quite a kick out of it and left a message on Stiller's machine to "Watch more TV."

  • I love U2, and I love "Bullet the blue sky" but i can't stop laughing!!

    Greaat dude!

  • Ben is moving around as if he's drunk or something.

  • Haha, that's funny..

But Ben Stiller is not good at having an Irish accent. Noone can sound like Bono except the man himself!

  • lol the hair flicking

  • I love U2 and I find this hilarious :D

  • i have a feeling hes trying to do marylin manson's impression..but thats just me

  • with bono it was always about giving the message.. LOL..

  • andy dick as adam?

  • : P

  • really good one !

wheres part II ? dammit :/

  • yeah nice goin Ben. Having the band play "Bullet" in 1980, when in fact it was released in 1987

  • It's a comedic tribute. I'm quite sure Ben is aware of the timeline discrepancy, but the song just worked for the piece.

  • Yeah and the clothing and style is from 92, still funny XD Does anybody know if it's true that it appeared only one person on one of their first gig?

  • lol, funny. ...How is that Irish?

  • hahaha ILove the Rattle & Hum parodie. Okay Edge play the blues

  • U2 is awesome and Bono has a good sense of humor.

  • Play the blues edge!

  • I love that "Ruben Kincaid" is in this.. that's just AWESOME :)

  • Comprende.

  • He does a really good irish accent!!!!!!!!!

I spose being 1/2 irish would kinda help!

    just sayin...

  • I didn't realise he was doing an Irish accent!

  • I'm sick of what's happenning in Northern Ireland!!

  • lol!!

  • there is a comedian named BOBCAT or something...he does the best immitation of bono

  • Bobcat Goldthwait

  • ...
