Yes, but that's not what bothers me. To this date McWhalen is the only Maverick who never got to have his own theme. I can accept all the other reused things, but the fact that he was the only one to be cast aside, even though they made him a perfectly working theme to begin with, pisses me off.
The X5 mavericks are like a family, Capcom is their dad, who bought all 7 others brand new mountain bikes, except for Duff, who got his cousins rusted, neon-green tricycle with twisted wheels.
There are many remixed music tracks in X5. This is because Megaman X5 was supposed to be the last game in the series, so it remixes old tracks to bring back memories and sort of summarize the series up to that point, and it ultimately ends. Also Bubble Crab's stage is very similar to Duff's stage, having you take down a fish-shaped submarine, and water is drained when you come to a sunken ship.

Not true. As said I enjoyed Deep Sea very much, and the only reason Duff's theme is on the list is because it annoys me how they decided to remix already used track instead of giving him the damn Deep Sea theme. Every single time I enter Duff's level it starts to piss me off.
fighting the same giant fish 3 times while it slowly moves through the level was boring as hell...but then again, it may have been that way to make speed runners more patient ( or kill them, either one makes sense :P)
McWhalen is only there because it has been done already. The song is pretty good, but using it again instead of putting something original (Deep Sea) there just makes me see red.

I sort of like #7. Not a whole lot, but I think it sets the mood just fine..
When you compare the stage to the song, you're running through the intense sun from 3:58 to about 4:15. Then the music signals the weather changing to a thunderstorm through 4:27.
At THAT point the music.gets chaotic. IMO it's to show the chaotic change among normal, heat, and stormy weather. (MM nerd, don't mind me.)

I do. Reusing some theme that wasn't all amazing in the first place really sticks out.
It's like using Crystalman's theme in Jewelman's stage, for example. It makes the theme less special.

10. Well, I agree with you. Reusage when you have something ready isn't that smart to do.
9. This does have potential by itself. A little out of place though.
8. It's great by itself, it just, as you said, lacks flames to fit perfectly in the level.
7. This I would place lower (like #3 or something). No atmosphere present.

At THAT point the music.gets chaotic. IMO it's to show the chaotic change among normal, heat, and stormy weather. (MM nerd, don't mind me.)
