  • louder is better!!!!!

  • all 3, chevy, ford, and dodge, have quiet engines. It depends on the person, and sometimes even the job. Some like loud, some like quiet. Some are out in the field, by themselves, others are around people, and need to talk, it depends on the situaton, but they are quiet now

  • Dear people who want a louder truck: I'm sorry about you're small penis.

The quietness gives me the impression that it's pretty fucking technologically advanced, but that's just me.

  • It still sounds great too.

  • Look on the lots of places hauling trailers for a living, won't find a ford.Mostly Dodge duallies with the Cummins used. These places don't want the fords finding them unreliable

  • It's funny all the wannabee rednecks want loud obnoxious trucks...People who actually use trucks for work prefer the quiet one. I'm sorry wannabee redneck, a loud truck doesn't make your penis longer...It just annoys everyone.

  • i like the loud 7.3!!!

  • I thought that a quiet diesel was kind of pointless, takes away from the manly-nes and raw brute power feeling of a truck.

Then I actually stood next to one of the SD's, they are remarkably quiet, even against Ford's gas engines, and it was actually very surprisingly nice.

It gives the truck that kind of "Intelligent Beast" type of presence.

If you've been around one, you'll know what I'm talking about, it really is one of those things you have to experience to understand.

  • why not go against dodge ram

  • Nothing beats the sound of the 7.3

  • LOL i saw the legs of the CAMERA MAN and The AUDIO man. in that grill.

The Tundra is even quieter !

  • @zloben9000 the tundra is a gas you dumbass

  • @tecate00000 and is a lot better you dipstick

  • If you get a quiet engine you can hand in your man card

  • thats why chevys are better i like loud engines

  • @MrChevyman555 its funny you say that. all chevy drivers where making fun of dodge and ford in the early diesel age cause they were to loud. now you say the exact opposite

  • By the end of the day u do get tire of all that noise. NICE

  • Nothing that a straight pipe cant fix!

  • @VFA103JollyRogers Its spelled "through" I'll take fat over dumb any day.....

  • @freakshow2000 i bet ur another fat american

  • @dangerpower95 Today I think I'll drive my 8 mpg F350 down to get a few cheese burgers, fries and a bucket of coke. I'll leave it running so it stays nice and cool in there.....

When I get back I'll watch some internet porn and take a nap. Maybe I'll watch the guy from another country mow my grass......

Its good to be a fat American I tell ya.

  • @freakshow2000 What is a lawn mower doing on your front yard?? The guy from another country is in ur house effing ur wife lol,

  • The Ford sounds good.

But the reason for having a quieter engine was lame lol.

Mike.. I'm a fan but help for come up with a better reason for having a quiet truck :)

  • If you heard, what they mean by quiet is the chevy, you could hear the fan making the whirling sound, and the superduty, the classic glug glug glug glug of the diesel. Just because the engine itself is quiet upfront, doesn't mean it's quiet in the rear. If you were having a convo back there, you would loose your ears. Ive heard a stock superduty revved, it made me wide eyed.

  • No you fuckers!!! I want my truck loud so I can piss my neighbors off in the morning starting it and letting it idle for 30 minutes!!!!!!!1

  • @MoneyMarcMes you can make it loud, check out the guys at powerlabs diesel the put a 5 inch straight pipe on a new ford diesel engine, with a h&s mini maxx it sounds beast

  • Wow. That Chevy truck is as loud as a vacuum cleaner.

  • Either way my hunting"spot"doesn't let diesel tricks in the gate because they are traditionally loud, it wouldn't matter if its the new powerstroke or old one, I still can't get in with a diesel truck

  • guys with tiny dicks want a loud engine

  • 1. Turn off the damn engine, you'll save fuel

    2. A quiet diesel is kinda pussy-ish

  • @julianbell90 saids a guy with a tiny dick

  • @josh14455 "saids"... Said the guy who didn't make it past the 2nd grade and occasionally mates with his cousin...

  • @julianbell90 then get a muffler?

  • @julianbell90 typical ignorant chevy excuse just because their trucks are not as good.

  • @julianbell90 only if you have to make up for something....

  • @julianbell90 Put an exhaust on it

  • @julianbell90 you have to warm up diesel trucks more

  • Or you could just shut your truck off...

  • just wandering why would you leave your car on and talk out doors? why wouldent you just turn it off go talk get back inside and turn it back on ?

what happened to the sound of the ford we all liked

  • i know these commercials are rigged even the chevy commercials. for some reason i feel that gmc is the better truck and thats because in my country where the tempreture reach +100 with out exagerating. if you dont believe just check out the weather history of kuwait. in my work place they dont use ford they use gmc.

  • I fell that some of these commercials are rigged...

  • Who wants a quiet Diesel. my favorite sounding Diesels (well for pickups are 7.3 PS, and the 6.0 PS, now for semis, 3406 Cat, Detroit 8v92, and Cummins n14

  • @VFA103JollyRogers i agree i have a 6.0 straight piped by far the best sounding diesel in my opinion especially the 03's cause how loud the turbo is it sounds like a jet

  • The philosophy of a skilled hard worker is to buy the tools that make your work the best. In my case: Snap On, Matco, Dewalt, and Super Duty. Anything else is just second rate.

  • i hate how the new 6.7 is quiet

  • Chevy has some quiet diesels too. The Cummins is the loud one

  • I love the new Ford SUPERDUTY but this was not a very important issue between the two trucks at all.

  • @SINCALTREV why come on these videos just to put down ford? if you hate ford dont watch their videos...

  • THE CHEVY HAD THE AC ON WHICH MADE ENGINE MAD IR LOUDER

  • @Migy347 Really? That's all you can come up with? The a/c? Please, tell me how the a/c, which only makes a slight 'click' when activating, can make that much noise?

The truth: You're pissed cuz the Chevy's diesel truly is that much noisier.

  • It was a Joke guys, chill lol

  • Okay so turning it off is too hard? Is there any real reason to get a ford, becuz that wasn't exactly the "sales pitch" that would convince me to get one. I'll just keep my motor trend truck of the year. Chevrolet...every day

  • just another reason ford is above the rest

  • oh wow my choice is definitely made up now, thanks sooo much for helping me with my outdoor conversations Mike, so i do not strain my voice.

  • well this i fucking retarded. they should have compared 2011 to 2011. the chevy is definitely not a 2011 i can tell by the bumper. the 2011 duramax is just as quiet if not quieter that the ford. havents the fords always been the loud ones anyways?

  • i LIKE BOTH BUT THIS DOESNT PROVE SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • this is bull. the chevy was started cold, which is why it was louder (it was at a high idle) the ford was warm, which is why it was quiet (low idle speed)

But who the hell wants a quiet truck

  • @RanchAdventures uhh i do

  • @RanchAdventures i want a quite truck... sorry i dont have to make up for certain things by having a big loud truck... besides liuder doesnt necessarily mean better... and why would you come on here just to put down ford? if you dont like them dont watch the videos

  • yup seems to be a good selling point anyhow. gms are good for driving. i love driving them out of the big 3. or , atleast i used to. the '05 gm at work has a funny steering set up. always a clunk and apparently it's not unusual. the suspension is just far too soft and the duramax seems decent enough--hardly goes in for anything. except shit ass door hinges. powerstrokes need too much maintenance when higher mileage. only thing with the dodge, there was a sensor or two that went on each of them

  • We should all start our engines and stand infront of the running vehicles and talk! That is a pretty fun thing to do!

  • I have a neighbor with a superduty and it's no quieter than the dmax.... this is all in the video production.

  • @CE750 is it the new model? cause yeah the old models were loud i test drove one of these new ones and it was quiet

  • @timinator824 yep, 2011 .... in some people's opinion, it's "too quiet".. I personally like that..

  • Raise my voice, I don't usually have tea and crumpets over the hood of my truck talking about the weather. Also maybe if the Chevy cooled down the fans wood not be running and it would be much quieter

  • Ain't nothing like the beautiful loud roar of a 12V 5.9 6BT cummins.

  • @TropicalConfederate hell yea gota love the cummins sound

  • @mancilla903

The Cummins has been the quiet one for years, since the 6.7 Cummins. All of the trucks can be loud with small modifications to the exhaust, fans, and engine.

  • It's a whole lot quieter than the Chevy cause its weaker!

  • Dear Chevy Fans,

    ford powerstroke 6.7 (Strongest Powerstroke) : 400 Peak Horse Power @ 2800

ISUZU Duramax 6.6 LML (Strongest Duramax): 397 Peak Horse Power @ 3000

    Stronger My Ass.

  • @K5LEGEND thats not logical... but from what i have seen Chevy does make more power. not by a lot but its there.

  • @halflife103 except they don't.. ford puts out 400 HP and 800 foot pounds of torque, chevy only with 397 HP and 765 foot pounds of torque

  • @goingdeepatv yeah i have been seeing mixed numbers, so all i care now is that they are pretty close.

'cept for torque. where as the dodge is just falling behind from what i read.

  • @halflife103 Dodge has 800 ft-lbs of torque in the 2011.5 models, same as the Ford.

  • @CowsXonXcrack Those trucks have been put into production?.

  • @CowsXonXcrack and the dodge will outperform, out look, out feel, and will always have the Best reliability out of the 3. Just goes to show what can be done when you use cummins.

  • @MotoX179 In-fuckin-deed.

  • @MotoX179 yup, and the balljoints wear prematurely...atleast in all of the new dodges at work. cummins is nice tho....and all of the factory exhausts split behind the mu fflers...38000 kms on one truck..

  • @bababooey7576 Im Canadian too :D but my balljoints were fine at 230,000KMS, and my stock exhaust was like new... mines an 05. Even though the exhaust was fine, I replaced the CAT with a 4" piece of piping (truck has 4" turbo back stock), Put an MBRP straight through muffler on it, and did a 5" muffler back with a 6" tip. Sounds great. Anyways, Ive never had a problem with my truck, probably because I dont beat on it like most people. Most of these tranny issues are from kids who cant drive.

  • @MotoX179 Yes, there is something to be said for the owner who doesnt abuse it. I work for a muncipality...need I say more.. it was just interesting to note that others with Dodges as personal vehicles noted the ball joints. who knows? i like driving the dodges. interesting to note, for some reason, the fleet dept.'s computer hasnt seemed to recall this one '05 chevy silverado for its regular oil changes/services. coincidentally, it seems to go into the shop the least.its doorhinges suck tho

  • @bababooey7576 and the chevys front ends suck. The ford and chevy dont ride like real trucks, they are really soft and wallowy. The dodge on the other hand is stiff and rigid, making it better for towing. The cummins engine in the dodge is by far the most reliable, and most sot after motor.

  • I love the loudness of my 6.0, quite diesels are for tree huggers

  • I have a solution, and i know its kinda crazy but if you want to have a conversation...turn your pickup off.

  • Try havin a conversation with someone that has a 7.3, damn near impossible to understand what theyre talking about haha great sounding engine though

  • @derekyellow2005 Nah the Dmax was at idle, it's clearly louder than the Ford. (For once lol) I own a '09 Dmax so I know exactly how it sounds.

  • Who wants a quiet engine anyways?

  • funny because Fords have been loud as fuck for the last 20 years and Duramax engines have always been the quiet ones... without trying.

  • @RedneckTypeOfFun It seems to me... Who would give a crap how loud the truck is. Unless you're a pansy ass who's "ears hurt because the truck that doesn't even hit 20 Db" is loud.... Dodge is the loudest anyhow.

  • Ford makes a really nice truck the bad thing is the shitty diesel engine. Dodge not so pretty but great diesel engine. Chevy ugly all around but it has a great transmission. What you want out of your truck.

  • OMG, this made up my mind for a Ford Diesel. I think I will go get one right now just for this reason!!!

  • Where's The Dodge Ram with the Cummins?

  • Chuck Norris never has to raise his voice while conversating in front of a 2500HD

  • @cowsxonxcrack. Your on crack you can't even piece together a sentence using proper grammar. Go drive your loud a** Fiat with the cummins and get bent.

  • Or you could just not be lazy and lift your arm up to turn the key off. That always works too. Dumb cunts worry about how quite their truck is? Give me a mother fucking break. I don't give a shit how loud my stock Dodge is, does anyone every complain about it? No. And people want you to stop using drive-thrus because of GLOBAL WARMING, not because of noise pollution. If you're going to idle at a drive-thru, do it with a Dodge, 4 years older and that Cummins is still cleaner than Ford and Chevy.

  • I love the sound of diesels, my favorite is caterpillar

  • what a joke...

  • @scorpo8900 I'll settle for Toyota can suck it and ecoboost is pretty cool.

  • @scorpo8900 Pump the brakes and watch your mouth. I'm a Avionics technician in the USAF for the A-10c Thunderbolt. Afghanistan sucks btw, just got back, I'm not rich enough to own a ford and all its bells and whistles so thats why i went with Chevrolet. Best TRUCK for the dollar. I got a black truck with 25,000 miles on it, 2008, crewcab, 4x4, perfect condition, with the 5.3L, for $20,000 at a CHEVY dealership. I did my homework and there was no other truck that came close for the price.

  • @scorpo8900

    Yep.

  • @scorpo8900 Did you just make up a word? Comed in second huh. With all due respect, you need to go back to your silent ford leaning, cheeseburger eating, liquor parties. Boom.

  • Ford loses...bragging about how quite it is? If thats all they got going for them then i guess chalk up a victory for ford LMAO!

  • @chevypunchesthroats obvious troll is.... obvious

  • You can make the 6.7 Scorpion loud. You just got to let it rev to 1500.

  • The 7.3 was the king of loud.

  • thats retarded.

  • How nice of them to insure the cooling fans were running on the chevy....... Dont get me wrong they both are awesome...... But be fair ford.

  • @frosty9595 fords dont have cooling fans, they just have the big one on the engine that comes on when more cooling is needed, i may be mistaken but i think some duramax trucks (not saying all) dont have AUX cooling fans eather

  • @russianboy556 so you just proved me right? Also air conditioning requires a cooling fan to function when the truck is ideling at a stop light or moving slow. Not to mention on a hot day the truck would overheat in slow traffic.

  • the ONLY downfall of this bad ass truck!

  • @vadergamefreek and no standard transmission option

  • @norcoatomik I didn't even think of that.

  • @vadergamefreek prety much everyone has only automatic so dosent make the ford any worse

  • Like this if you have a big dick

  • @OSUEng1n33r So, I can't like this.........

    God Dammit.

  • The Chevy sounds better anyway POUND FOOT!

  • mike rowe doesnt even drive a ford...he drives used chevys

  • right im gonna choose one truck over the other for the sole purpose of my possiable conversation leaning up against my truck...and like jingq2 said, who wants a quiet diesel...im sorry ford, but selling point fail

  • @TheJakeLy was the selling point any better done by chevy to the new ford and all they could bitch about was the depth of the box????

  • for one that was a f250 with the 6 cylinder powerstroke and yeah that chevy was a v8 so shut the fuck up mike rowe

  • if you zoom back and forth between the two engines in the video, they actualy don't sound any different.

  • Ehh even tho its better I still like the 06 F-250 idle it probably the best sounding vehicle next to my 04 cobra TT

  • I think Ford does these little things just so they can make a commercial out of it.

  • want the answer to why it sounds rediculously loud... ford had that truck running before they tested so that their ford sounds quiet. the chevy sounds loud, like all engines at start up because is running a higher RPM for a couple mins to warm up. once again, knowledgeable people need to educate first time buyers on the tricks ford seems to love playing, more so than any other car company, its really noticeable.

  • @KLsemperFi7 No, I disagree, the Ford is quiter.

  • please ive worked more days in my life with a 94 gmc reg cab v6..still better than your wanna be black smokin, look at me my truck is a little bit loud, goose steppin ass..yea i dont give a damn about the environment but when people balck smoke in a retared loud truck, it literally makes them look stupid and real normal girls are like "well my bf does drive a little pos gmc sierra reg cab, but at least his dick is bigger than the guys who is driving that retared dodge"..

  • @54mgolden haha good one my 88 F250 7.3 idi has towed 45,000 gross. it dose more than 75% of the trucks out there what ever it is you name it and it has probably done it. is it loud? ya just a little more than stock. dose it smoke ya more than stock but the banks sidewinder cleans it up pretty good. diesels will always out work gassers hands down. if some body like a big loud diesel thats what they like. you do know that most guys that make fun of small dicks are insecure about theirs right?

  • @nm730d i doubt it brother..

  • @54mgolden no your tiny ass gay truck just makes your tiny dick look bigger

  • @sleepybone321 oh yea dumb redneck try to make funny..thats not what your sister/girlfriend/cousin/wife said last night..

  • @54mgolden im a redneck? thats news to me

  • put a straight pipe on it

  • @54mgolden Wow your funny. How old are you like 6?

  • @TheDevenrocks 19 dumbshit, old enough to show your sister what a real man feels like..

  • That's to bad you guys are gay cause chicks dig loud diesels.

  • @ACumminsCan only redneck, buck toothed, fat, pimply, dont-be-bathin-for-weeks, chicks dig loud diesels..fuckin rednecks..yall just pissed because ford can out do any chevy and any dodge and any other truck that thinks it can hold up to this beast bitch!..

  • @54mgolden only sissy, momma's boy, office working, never done a days work in there life, fuckin city slickers like quite diesels. its sad that the diesels are getting more geared towards the guys that use them to get groceries and drop the kids off at school

  • @nm730d Thats not true, I would rather listen to the badass turbo over the loud engine. I drove the 2011 Ford and the Turbo is astounding.

  • @nm730d i agree. my trucks loud. i like loud trucks even if it aint mine. no point in arguing with that fag though. fuck off 54mgolden get a smart car. take your insecurities and that v6 piece of limp fuck hippy shit elsewhere.

  • If my Chevy diesel is too loud than you are too fucking old. Damnit, Mike, why did you side with Ford?

  • WHO THE FUCK WANTS A QUITE DIESEL`?!?!?!?

  • Fags, Iove the new super D's, but diesels are supposed to be loud and scare little kids inparking lots when you start them!! I remember when the Duracraps we real quiet, NOW THERE THE LOUD ONES?!

  • I been driving long haul for a while with pickups and a quiet diesel is the best idea yet. It allows you to drive farther without the fatigue that a noisy diesel will give you. All I care about is torque when I need it to get that trailer moving down the road....noise is a byproduct that I don't need.

  • it was time haha ford disel engines were nasty noisy chevy engines are not to loud speciially nbs

  • i love ford trucks but i dont mind the clunky sound of a diesel, its kind of part of the deal. the 7.3 sound in the new 6.7 would be welcomed by me.

  • long live the loud idle from the 7.3

  • hahahaha

  • a cummins id the way to go!!

  • the nice thing about these is that they are quiet at idle and during moderate acceleration, at cruising speed its actually quieter than my mercedes S550, but when you go to pass some cock sucker in a prius going 15 under the speed limit, its loud enough to get the point across.

  • I like loud diesels but after a while they tend to get a little obnoxious and tacky, so I'm glad they're taking this approach to more quieter diesels.

  • I like my loud 7.3. Good ole single shot injectors.

  • I have to say tho, although both these diesels are way too quiet, the ford sounds much better than the chevy. All you hear from the chevy is the cooling fan.

  • Just turn the damn thing off, wow ever thought of that one ford?

  • u rev it up it gets LOUD

  • Fords new Prius-Stroke!!! If I wanted a quite sounding truck Id have a damn gas engine. Thank God for after market parts!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'll take the quiet diesel actually. 1. I don't drive around trying to impress other people with a loud diesel. 2. It's such a pain to have to switch off the truck at a drive-thru. I like diesels for the performance and fuel economy. If you are spending $50k-60k on one of these just to impress other people you have other issues to deal with than just noise.

  • @MrChevypower Who cares what other people think about my loud ass diesel. If anything I hope the clang of my cummins offends some self ritchous asshole in a hybrid. I would only hope after spending $50-60k on a truck I wouldnt have 50-60k problems with all the lame ass emissions crap on it! Id rather see it be an option if anything....oh wait it is!!! GASOLINE!!!

  • @levi79 How the heck is that a response to what I wrote?

  • I'm sorry I think we can all agree Chevy wins this battle. Nobody wants a quiet diesel. Even then the Chevy needs to be much louder.

  • its a fucking diesel. alot of people. (most) people dont want a fucking quite diesel. the magority of diesel buyers get exhausts and chips for them.

  • after a 6 inch exhaust and big enjector lines it'll lope and clack like it should!!!

  • a diesel should be loud expecially a ford

  • if you burn diesel you should advertise it by being loud

  • @bigjohnypop i think with new technology like cam less engine it will be more quite
