  • Amazing footage!!!

  • I saw this tour as my first concert. Vanity,Time, and P. I was ten at the time,my parents were awesome!

  • Much respect to Dez Dickerson!

  • @Schenectadont Dez never gets enough respect

  • @npgfunk as a guitarist myself, dez's solo is pretty choppy. princey baby could've shredded his ass with his own masterful licks.

    Thanks mate

  • Dez, F'ing amazing guitar player. Great post!!!!

  • GO PRINCE GO! I SAW U ONCE! SO GOOD!

  • a nine y.o. kid seeing prince at the cow palace in SF on the Purple Rain tour. What an amazing artist, musician and performer.

  • HOT!!!! One of my favorites! Nobody can touch Prince!!!!

  • yeah iwas in the ninth grade ack then too i wish i couldve seen this conert these were the days

  • nice to see jill jones singing on the track live.

  • あまりにも素晴らしい、ありがとう。PRNCE.R.N

  • I remember going to the 1999 concert in Milwaukee, WI...I was a kid, just infatuated with Prince...now, I'm grown & I LOVE this MAN

  • Mr.Dickerson guitar solo was tougth too bad he left Prince, the group did the same show in Mobile,Ala; during that time, everybody thought Morris day was Prince, until Prince manned the stage.

  • Wow that Dez Solo was sick. I think Prince really looked up to Dez Andre Peppe, all of them. It probably hurt for all them to have their own agendas...

  • PRINCE ROCKS...(texas sucks!)...and that is where i saw PRINCE AT...texas...

  • omg. Prince is truly allowing us to listen to his music & view his video footage. Can't believe it. I would see him practically everytime he came to San Diego & Los Angeles as far back as 1983. His shows were so raw & didn't appear to be choreographed ...but you know he rehearsed it to a science. After Purple Rain still loved Prince but it was never the same for me. It was like after Michael did Thriller everything seemed to lack that rawness. They were still great but...

  • they really need to release this concert on dvd

  • Saw this same tour in Omaha when I was a junior in high school. The sound quality does not do it justice. The bass line on this song shook the whole arena. Then they performed Controversy and the synthesizer rattled your soul...the crowd in Omaha was absolutely nuts! "Black, White, Puerta Rican, everybody just a freakin".

  • The live version is actually better. Wow.

  • GREAT VERISON !!!

  • Prince has so many great songs...what a true artist and musical legend!!!! I wish I could've caught him live back then.

  • @Sahbisun just as good now = )

  • WOW!!!!! Was the 1999 tour (Triple Threat Tour) pro shot? Never seen this quality before........love 2 c more!!!! THX!!

  • I like the new prince...but I miss the old one.

  • Dez Dickerson on lead guitar. Andre Cymone (Anderson) was the Bass player on the first tour only.

  • Is that Andre Somone on lead guitar? Ok, any die hard Prince fan would know his name isn't really Andre Semone, any more than Rogers name is "Dr. Jism".

  • @skunduglio

I think he's Dez Dickeson, not Andre :)

  • He's Dez Dickerson, not André

  • I was at this show sitting lower prom....I was in the 9th grade at the time...one of the best shows I have ever seen...Vanity 6 opened the show followed by The Time!...Everybody was on FIRE!...After the Time had left the stage, I was thinking no way Prince is going to be better than that...Well, I was WRONG...Prince brought the house DOWN!

  • @jynupe I saw this tour in Detroit and The Time blew Prince off the stage! That was a turning point so Prince refused to let The Time perform in anymore major cities. Prince should have given The Time their own tour but his ego was too big for that

  • @jynupe I missed that show. I saw the Controversy show in Houston a year earlier. When the 1999 concert came I was in the 6th grade. I had three D's on my report card that semester, and my mom wouldn't let me go. I cried and cried that night. I remember listing to Prince songs on Majic 102 all night long. That was the last time I made bad grades. I've been to a total of 10 Prince concerts. I've seen him do a soundcheck (2001), and I've been on stage with him (2006).

  • @jynupe u r lucky u got 2 c Prince at that age and his early music.I got a chance 2 c Prince at 16 yrs old by myself at Oaland ca in 1988 (Love Sexy tour ) .

  • @jynupe you was in the 9th that year i was too

  • @jynupe Now that's funny, I was at the show in DC. I went to see The Time & Vanity 6 not really caring about Prince. I felt the same way after The Time left the stage......but I left that show a Prince fan, & have been 1 ever since !

  • I used to have this concert on VHS. The DMSR performance is classic too. Hope you can upload that.
