This is what we need to understand.. JOBLESSNESS is the reason for the economic crisis, not bad loans.

We have a nation of people who are unemployed and unable to make loan payments or buy products. Families can't afford mortgages if mom/dad get laid off. Graduates can't pay back school loans. If people don't have jobs, they can't buy things that drive the economy.

Republican Reaganomics has failed. Keynesian economics, govt intervention is key! We need strong regulation of all industries.

It seemed to me that the republicans and democrats were about to reach an agreement on the bill, until McCain decided to go to Washington? Why are the republicans backing down now? The bill at first was 3 pages long and they wanted to pass it, but now they won't pass the bill without new provisions that came out of nowhere?
