Saw this demo when I was 12, changed my life. Three years later I finally reproduced that wormhole I so much loved in mode x. This has been an incredible inspiration! I am so happy this video has appeared on the net. Every few years or so I go on a "future crew" Google hunt, just to see if I can find something new. YES! Finally did!! :) Thank you so freaking much!
Werd up to demoscene history being recorded. I would love to see video from group production work and past demo parties I've been to since the early 90's.
I miss the ST3 interface...

Oh my god the memories!!! Awesome to see Purple Motion at work... And How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way :) I was probably looking at that at the same exact time. Sweet!
Unreal and Second Reality have been a great inspiration to me, at the time. Very nostalgic and cool to see the masters at work. I wonder what they're doing now...
Great video, I'd love to see some subs! brings me back to the time dled from bulletin boards with my 2k4 modem haha. Haven''t seen this demo in 15 yrs, great stuff!
Wow. Watching Purple Motion (I think that's who it was?) hashing out that legendary theme in what I assume is Scream Tracker.... freaking unreal. I wish I could understand what they were saying.
Whoa, you guys have been my idols since when started with pascal in early nineties also with 2D, hell my talent was nothing compared here and this so historic video 'z.com' throwing dir listings onto screen. Huh, this made me almost cry.
@PrekiFromPoland Actually, Skaven did the intro and outro, PM did the main music. If you listen to their music (like I have for the past 18+ years), you can tell they have two totally different styles (and both are awesome).
@drright71 - man, I listen to their songs day by day ;). I know that Skaven composed quasi-orchestral intro/outro. However, I've been quite surprised seeing Skaven messing with PM's song.
OMG, this is what the word E:P:I:C was invented for! I remember the good old days, watching awesome demos downloaded from BBS-es late night (cheaper call costs). It was nice to see what theese guys could get out from a 486DX4, a few megs of RAM and a GUSPnPPro (rulz:) :D
According to YouTube, this video has 0 dislikes, and i am the 100th person to like this....that shows the power of this demo and the people who love it.
@2000jago , it's mainly about the creative process, ideas fly how the images should apper and so on, some humor on "Is this the making of second reality" only to turn the talk back to vectors. There's nothing really special talked about cause these guys were all special on the inside, they knew their shit.
@Tr3oX Thanks for the insight, but I'd STILL like to see it subbed because fan's of these guys (of which I consider myself one) would find whatever they're talking about interesting.
Even if they're not talking about anything specifically interesting or even pertaining to the demo. Just a little insight to their personality's, sense of humor etc. Fascinating stuff.
I mean dude! ... Historic moment. The best moment of my life when you could switch to the video mode with 2 lines of asm.... I have no idol in my life, except these guys. Respect. Thank you, you shape my computer life and I will always remember what 2nd reality did on my life. - kinematix

This demo that participated and won the Assembly contest 1993 used to fit in a 3.5" 1.44mb diskette which is truly remarkable. Nowadays they need 100mb to do something like that. Pure programming. It was so inspirational for me back then.
And the thing is, Second Reality was neither the best coded nor the best designed demo of its era. But it was a sign of a new era on the PC and that's why it's remembered. Cheers!
@tomcatmwi Bro, I was 13 then Second Reality came out. I was following the demo scene before and after it came out. I watched the assembly entries from several years also. It was the best. Period.
@Jallandhara Best on the PC, yes. A very good demo on any platform, yes. But there are several competitors for the 'best demo' of that time, particularly on the Amiga. (Do not argue with historic facts. :))
You guys fucking rule. You made me buy my first computer back then just to watch second reality endlessly!!! if today's programmers had 1% of your skills games would be amazing. Today instead of optimizing there codes they say buy bigger computer. You guys showed the world what skill and optimized code could do. Thank you so much for making my life be like it is right now. Without you and I wouldnt be the same!!!
