  • do u use regular gas in the 583?

  • I always run 91 octane, my sled runs better after i unhooked my oiler and started running 40:1 fuel too.

  • is it stock? what year?

  • it's a 1997 with over sized carbs and an mbrp can, i installed a 156" 2" track this season and after i did my clutching it turns it surprisingly well... these little motor are really peppy.

  • I know someone with a stock 97 583 with almost 14 000 km on it how much do u think its worth?

  • depending on condition and when the motor was last rebuilt and everything they go for $1000-2000 canadian

  • Its in good condition but idk if the moter was ever rebuilt but he want $1500

  • @smithereenpsycho how much to set the suspension up to be pit and jump riding worthy? how much fpr a block? or what is it they do with them. id really like to know.

  • The suspension has all the same adjustments in the rear as any newer ski-doo, just less travel, exact design though, the front still has trailing arms so it kinda sucks for jumping. pretty sure a short block is $1000 or something like that... pretty sure it was a sno-x type engine in it's day

  • ok looking for some background so if i were to buy a 583 ski doo and wanted to just leave the stock length track but get some more travel for agressive riding (pits and such) where would i start. if you have the time for a detailed answer id really appreciate it. ive been running like 2003ish sled sbut they dont hold their value for me but are too expensive to run hard for my current budget. id like to set up an older sled for my riding type

  • nice... do ya have rail ot tunnel extensions on it? and if so, how much were they in total without the track, possibly gettin a MXZ 583 for a 1000 bux, real good deal, so whats it like on gas? and as a short track, is it any good in deep snow at all? I knows its a short track, but i had to ask anyways

  • i just finished putting Summit 136 suspension off of a 98 under it with redrilled mounting holes so i could fit a 141 under it with a 2" paddle but to fit the 2" track you have to switch to a 7 tooth driver.
