What is the name of that spider? I see them in our garden usually around July or something and when I do I toss live cockroaches into their web from my dust pan or broom then I enjoy watching them wrapping these pests from our house.
btw they are not really that dangerous. They only bite when you try to squeeze or hurt them but more likely they flee from humans(well based on my experience).

This is an argiope or golden orb spider.

true. And their bite is Harmless. It is a Black and Yellow Argiope Spider (Argiope Aurantia).

I had about 8 of those pricks near a river down by my house, storm washed 6 of them away and two still there. Also have one in my backyard.
