Great interview. While his answers were amazing you shouldn't put yourself down at all, you obviously asked all the right questions and made him really feel able to open up about his thoughts on so many different things which he feels are important.
Yes you can always look back on things and think maybe better preparation or a more serious/professional style would have been "better," but no doubt that would have put Reg in a totally different frame of mind and possibly changed his answers.
experience all that emotions have to offer- if you always stay where you are, you'll always be who you always were. i didn't expect to hear such wisdom in a comedy interview. i'm quite moved.
I have read some of the comments on here and I really don't understand where people are coming from. I genuinely believe this is one of the best interviews on youtube. Maybe that is because of Reginald's insightfulness, maybe that is because of the rapport the interviewers built which made Reginald comfortable.
One thing is for sure, I doubt half of the people commenting could conduct a better interview.
I think the interviewing is good, no offence but I think the timidity of your voice is making people assume you can't interview, however the questions were actually good and well informed, not only this, but you got a shit load of information out of him. Really good interview.
@imjackcooper Thought your questions were pretty good. I haven't seen another interview where anyone else got any more interesting stuff out of him, so you were clearly doing something right.
I have only recently become more aware of this man, but I already hold a lot of respect for him (despite not always agreeing with him). A great interview too, one of the best I've seen in a long time (though the questions were a tad quiet, that's more of a sound thing).
No offense intended here, because I'd suck in public situations, but the interviewer really didn't work well enough or hard enough to deserve such a fantastically complete response.
I knew I liked Reg. I knew he had a hell of a lot in reserve. But I had no idea he was the kind of person who would be so ready to deliver such a complete philosophical observation.
The best thing I've seen on the net this year so far.
This is so different from how he is in his act and on TV panel shows, I realise now that the person he portrays on stage isn't him, it's just a comedy act.
There are many great comedians, but there aren't many who I'd genuinely want to be around off the stage. This guy is one of the 'not many'. I think he's great :)
I watched this video with (a) the TV on (b) my mobile phone ringing and (c) an important meeting to get to.
Nevertheless, I ignored everything, as I was completely engaged by this mans intelligence, musings and general dexterity with metaphors. Great guy! Measured, composed, wise and just fuc*ing nice!
I must add; great questions too seriously, a fantastic interview. 20 minutes seemed like 2!
Awesome guy. I do stand up and back in the day when Reg lived near me in Birmingham I used to drive him to gigs and he was great company on long car journeys to Salisbury, Sheffield, Leeds, London etc... Fellow stand ups are mesmorised by his performance on stage. Go Reg!!!!
Awesome, one of my favourite comedians, good to find a lengthy interview with him and i agreed with pretty much everything he said right down to family guy.
One thing though, "Fred" has the most subscribers on youtube last time i checked, this is the only type of comedy that i cannot see how people would laugh, i grew out of the "Haha listen to the squeeky voice" attitude when i hit seven.
He is so right, personally if I was brought up in a society with no racism at all then it would never have crossed my mind that people from other cultures are "different" to me at all.
smart, funny and very likeable bloke.

I've always enjoyed his appearances on television. This was great interview showing another side. A class act. Very thoughtful.

I had no idea he was so calm, thoughtful and intelligent. His stand-up persona does not give this away!

@Androg I wouldn't mind a Frank Zappa-esq vocal accident that knocks it down an octave or two if I'm honest.
