  • smart, funny and very likeable bloke.

  • I've always enjoyed his appearances on television. This was great interview showing another side. A class act. Very thoughtful.

  • I had no idea he was so calm, thoughtful and intelligent. His stand-up persona does not give this away!

  • he's a very intelligent man seems, didn't really know much about him before I saw this

  • Agreed, this was a brilliant interview. You asked some really good and interesting questions too.

  • very smart man.

  • amazing inspirational interview, worth while listening to even if ur not tryin to be a comic

  • What a charming, intelligent and funny man. Thak you for posting this interview.

  • Nice interview. You shut up and let him talk. Right thing to do.

  • Gifted guy.......good spirt

  • Great interview. While his answers were amazing you shouldn't put yourself down at all, you obviously asked all the right questions and made him really feel able to open up about his thoughts on so many different things which he feels are important.

Yes you can always look back on things and think maybe better preparation or a more serious/professional style would have been "better," but no doubt that would have put Reg in a totally different frame of mind and possibly changed his answers.

  • A fountain of wisdom as always.

  • Great interview. Hunter apparently felt comfortable enough with the interviewer to really share. So job well done...

  • Amazing, amazing interview.

  • Brilliant interview, you juiced him...

  • @phatman52 Damn right.. Easily my favourite comedian

  • wow he 's damn intelligent.

  • experience all that emotions have to offer- if you always stay where you are, you'll always be who you always were. i didn't expect to hear such wisdom in a comedy interview. i'm quite moved.

  • I have read some of the comments on here and I really don't understand where people are coming from. I genuinely believe this is one of the best interviews on youtube. Maybe that is because of Reginald's insightfulness, maybe that is because of the rapport the interviewers built which made Reginald comfortable.

One thing is for sure, I doubt half of the people commenting could conduct a better interview.

  • Yay good old Reg, funny man.

    much respect.

  • I think the interviewing is good, no offence but I think the timidity of your voice is making people assume you can't interview, however the questions were actually good and well informed, not only this, but you got a shit load of information out of him. Really good interview.

  • @Androg I wouldn't mind a Frank Zappa-esq vocal accident that knocks it down an octave or two if I'm honest.

  • @imjackcooper Thought your questions were pretty good. I haven't seen another interview where anyone else got any more interesting stuff out of him, so you were clearly doing something right.

    AC :)

  • I have only recently become more aware of this man, but I already hold a lot of respect for him (despite not always agreeing with him). A great interview too, one of the best I've seen in a long time (though the questions were a tad quiet, that's more of a sound thing).

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Does Reginald live in the UK now?

  • wise man

  • Reginald is one of them comedians who are naturally funny people, it just comes to them and don't have to try...

  • seriously bloody nice bloke

  • @syncopatedsteve Shit yeah, man! I met him last night, he was genuinely lovely and we chatted for like twenty minutes. Love him!! K x

  • wow he looks really tired, must be working to hard lol

  • What an amazing giver!

No offense intended here, because I'd suck in public situations, but the interviewer really didn't work well enough or hard enough to deserve such a fantastically complete response.

I knew I liked Reg. I knew he had a hell of a lot in reserve. But I had no idea he was the kind of person who would be so ready to deliver such a complete philosophical observation.

The best thing I've seen on the net this year so far.

  • your interviewing skills were really good, ask a good question and shut up and listen to the answer.

I don't see what else is required.

btw this was a really good interview, some how you brought out a really serious hunter.

  • You're lucky man, would love to have a chat with him.

He needs to do a 2 hour stand up DVD! ;)

  • 'It's good that we're educating the youth so poorly, because it means they don't learn the old ways'

This dude sounds like a really smart guy, would love to have a chat with the man

  • very wise, probably chuffed a blunt before the interview haha

  • he looks like hes about to burst into tears

  • @etocadet looks more tired to me.

  • he's ace

  • Great material

  • love the man

  • for some reason here he looks like either he's very emotional or they woke him up too early for this interview.

    lol.

he's awesome. i also love the way he does his hair... it always looks amazing. sometimes a bit weird... but amazing

    :]

  • goin 2 see him2moro in newcastle

  • I was there. Was excellent wasn't it. Great gig.

  • wow, i love his comedy but this interview is so wise and insightful.

    He is an amazing man.

  • Conveys CONTRARY meaning. IN THE STATEMENT ITSELF.

    Which yours didn't.

  • You might want to look up irony in the dictionary at some point.

  • it`s your small minded attitude and childish response that gives such bad situations to the world

  • Bus 44 is Chinese... can't hold it against Reg though. Also, fuck Hari.

  • Since when do you quote homer simson? How about some cow&chicken quotes?

  • best show i saw at edinburgh.

    he's the man.

    thanks for posting.

  • He's such a legend, always a treat when he's on "8 out of ten cats" also. Such an original comic...

  • This is so different from how he is in his act and on TV panel shows, I realise now that the person he portrays on stage isn't him, it's just a comedy act.

  • The same can be said for virtually every stand-up comedian!

  • He is such an engaging character, I really like him.

  • i am a fan

  • There are many great comedians, but there aren't many who I'd genuinely want to be around off the stage. This guy is one of the 'not many'. I think he's great :)

  • I watched this video with (a) the TV on (b) my mobile phone ringing and (c) an important meeting to get to.

Nevertheless, I ignored everything, as I was completely engaged by this mans intelligence, musings and general dexterity with metaphors. Great guy! Measured, composed, wise and just fuc*ing nice!

I must add; great questions too seriously, a fantastic interview. 20 minutes seemed like 2!

    CLAPS ALL ROUND!!

    ***Complimentary gesture NOT sexual infection***

  • this is a great post, thanks for sharing.

  • Awesome guy. I do stand up and back in the day when Reg lived near me in Birmingham I used to drive him to gigs and he was great company on long car journeys to Salisbury, Sheffield, Leeds, London etc... Fellow stand ups are mesmorised by his performance on stage. Go Reg!!!!

  • lol love this guy... utter honesty (the funny kind).

  • Was lucky enough to spend some time talking to Reg. He is the real deal and a completely amazing guy.

  • he's so intelligent and seems completely different in interviews in comparison to his stage persona. Amazing interview :-)

  • Awesome, one of my favourite comedians, good to find a lengthy interview with him and i agreed with pretty much everything he said right down to family guy.

One thing though, "Fred" has the most subscribers on youtube last time i checked, this is the only type of comedy that i cannot see how people would laugh, i grew out of the "Haha listen to the squeeky voice" attitude when i hit seven.

  • He watches Family Guy :D. Awesome.

  • He is so right, personally if I was brought up in a society with no racism at all then it would never have crossed my mind that people from other cultures are "different" to me at all.

  • This is amazing

  • Excellent.
