  • swedish justice have proved that there is no cure for "GREED".

Free Piratebay or burn in hell...!!!

  • The world has had enough of you, the world is going to show you (the mpaa, riaa) what you didn't it to see. A world, without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders and boundaries. A world, where anything is possible".

    Human knowledge is for everyone!

  • free Gottfrid Svartholm and Fredrik Neij( the pirate bay owners)

    support the open source movement!

copy and paste if you support freedom and equality

  • That would probably be correct. But then you would be having an illegal copy of a file (if it's copyrighted) on that server - in case of a trial you would loose, and you would need a lot more space than a .torrent file.

That is why you can't really sue a web site that contains torrents, they don't have the copyrighted material they just know someone else who does :) nice..

  • Kopiera means 'fuck you corporate assholes' and 'copy'

  • it's funny how people can DoS attack the pirate bay and get away with it while there is a fucking trial going on!

  • I dont understand a word they say in this and it makes perfect sense to me. if the lawyers/judge don't understand i would have to wonder how they got to be where they are today.

  • This video is not good. I watched it and have still no idea how a torrent work. How can lawyers make anything out of this?

My IQ is slightly over 100, so I don't think this is the problem.

  • must be, it made perfect sense to me.

  • insikt, think of a torrent as a telephone line. The phone line goes from your telephone to the phone of who you're calling. The Pirate Bay is essentially the store you go to when you want to buy a phone line. The person you're calling isn't at The Pirate Bay. The prosecution is claiming that TPB is the telephone switchboard.

They claim TPB breaks laws by facilitating the torrent files. This video shows that even regular email can be used, and that if TPB is breaking laws, so is Hotmail.

  • LOL.

  • lol, clearly the IQ test you took was one of those free online tests that are not accurate at all.

You take a file, turn it into a torrent, and then send it to people through msn, skype, or upload it on thepiratebay or on a blog, etc.

You have to be completely retarted to not understand that from this video. And no, I don't speak swedish.

  • My IQ is above average on english tests (in sweedish I would sure score higher). I Am a programmer with 15 years of experience (complicated embedded systems in Linux) so my intellectual capacity cannot be the problem. Still I can't get anything out of this video. I just see someone clicking on a MAC and creating torrent files. What in hell is a torrent? How does that differ from sharing the file from a FTP server? TPB is storing these torrents on their servers, how can this be compared to Google

  • Funny how through your numerous years of programming experience you have never..

1.) Herd of a torrent file seeing as how it is the worlds largest and fastest p2p network.

2.)Done research on google, google 'torrent' file and you will get a large description of what it is and how they work.

3.)Didn't make the connection between google and ptb.

I'm an inexperienced high school graduate and college student. Figures with all your intellect you would be able to infer what this video is depicting.

  • The video shows how to pack a torrent file and host it onto a public tracker so it can be shared by the public for download.

TPB is like google in the sense that TBP makes all of the information readily available in hash addresses but does not actually have the data on their servers.

Google is like TPB because they do not claim ownership over the materials they store in databases, just that it exists and that it has been recorded.

  • You gotta be kidding me.

Over 15 years of experience and you don't know what a torrent is?

  • The point is not to educate us to understand how to use torrents... The film was shown at the trial of the Pirate Bay do educate the old and ugly men and women in court how the Bit Torrent system work....

  • I know.

    My reply was for insiktsanning.

Unless you think he is old and ugly? :)

"What in hell is a torrent? "

  • insiktsanning, a .torrent file is simply a file that, though some minor guidance from the servers, allows the various torrenting programs to communicate, and share the files relevant to the torrent. Files are sent as packets, often in small clumps, from all users who have a complete, or even partial form of the desired files.

The pirate bay stores very, very little on their servers.

  • So if the same file can be partly downloaded from several servers, then it differs from FTP.

Else you could just upload the file to a FTP server and send the IP-address and login details by e-mail to someone instead of a torrent file.

  • Torrents are much diffrent than ftp. A torrent file uses hash adresses to map out an intricuit series of connections between peers. TBP does not store the actual file information that the torrent file is pointing to. People download the torrent, it opens in a program, a program reads all the adresses and then connects to people in the cluster. These people then all send and receive the file throughout the cluster. Only the client users have actual parts of the file that the torrent is pointing.

  • Not only do you not want to store an illigal copy of a file onto a server but torrent trackers are very quick. If I can get a healthy torrent (many users are in the cluster) than i can download at speeds up of 2.0 MB/s. This is made available because of the pure amass of people that connect to a cluster. EVERYONE is becoming a small ftp of a portion of the file and that allows for a LARGE ammount of overall bandwith in the cluster.

  • Best part is, you dont need an expensive server to host the actual file information!! all of this is being hosted/downloaded from people with home PCs and acheiving speeds greater than most FTPs.

  • Torrents are not stored on the servers, it's simply P2P using a different networking architecture to transfer the data.

  • basically me and others are exchanging games , music, movies, etc but are using the pirate bay to get the file which would link us with the said files we desire.....pirate bay is not at fault they should be chasing people like me and little johnny boy lol

  • I miss the good old FTP days, before the whole world did it's best to get the attention of the industry.

  • you are wrong on 2 accounts.

    1. Torrents are not stored on TPB servers. The links to the torrents are.

    2. Google does place web page cache on their servers.... so they do keep content, unlike TPB servers.

  • TPB DOES store torrents on their servers.

Torrents are meta-files that link to some, maybe copyrighted material, though they dont contain copyrighted material itself.

    TPB hosts torrent files (links).

TPB DOES NOT host copyrighted files.

  • You are wrong, TPB is a tracker which stores the torrent file. To see that they do host the .torrent file, right click the link to download and choose copy the link location and then paste it anywhere, you will see it is on TPB. A site like isohunt ISNT a tracker and don't host the torrent files, they link to site like TPB.

  • o did you guys win or is the trial still going on.....

  • still going on... will end tomorrow 4th march 2009

  • Close, kill and burn Hotmail, MSN, Skype, Wordpress and TPB! There's no other solution...!

  • lol

  • you forgot to mention yahoo mail and aol as well lol

  • people still use that? :)

  • IRC?

  • Yeah where's the english?

  • a english version would be ok hehe

  • ska pirate bay stänga i mars?

  • varför skulle de göra det?

  • Haha, good video x] And very good explaining for those who don't understand torrents ;)

  • yea iv noticed that too i would have never noticed except for the jeans.

  • "här väljer vi att skojja till det lite" :D tas bort direkt? beskrivning stämmer inte med innehåll ffs!

  • Audio: 2

    Video: 3

    Film: 8

  • 'Här skojar vi till det lite' Hehe! :)

  • <3<3<3<3<3

  • Go Pirates!! Wait....that was my highschool football team too! GO! Englewood/PirateBay PIRATES!! GO!!!

  • this is not about sport ;)

  • No shit, right?

  • I know :p I just loved my highschool and I thought I would show some pirate pride.

  • The Pirate Bay trial video. Great, for educational purposes :) I support pirate bay because I feel equal with the developed countries. Because we don't have those bling bling they have. Viva la piracy!!! Stumbled this video...

  • Support Piracy!

  • Tårrenter!!! Vilken bra film. Jag känner mig så smart nu.

  • Very nice indeed... and a lot quicker than when the prosecution went through the final part - downloading a torrent - individually for all cases - which took 200 pages, and 2 days of the courts time.

I bet he wishes he had made a screencast instead...

  • Very educational good work, love the Hacintosh ;-)

  • TPB forever. Tak!

  • Haha, anklagerne trenger visst all hjelpen de kan få XD

  • Så bra gjord. <3
