  • Esto no es Flamenco. Es una nueva adaptacion de la danza tradicional. Igual que arte moderna no se parece a el arte original.... nada que ver...no hay comparacion.

  • Shut up with the political discussions! Just watch the beautiful women dance to the beautiful music. Geez . There is a place and a time for that and this isn't one of them!

  • i dnt care where its from its nice dancing and beautiful music thats whats important XD...

  • Beautiful!!!!

    PABLO

  • Parece mesmo uma música árabe! Ancestral! Sou descendente: meu bisavô era espanhol. Sou brasileira: A. Carmen

  • @pemalodron Senorita, U right the Spanish music get their influence from Arabs but don't forget the Arabs take their Musical influence from Greek/Roman, Persian and Aramaic. if u listen Greek and Armenian music u probably will know there's similarity between them. Well actually all Middle East music just sound same, but don't forget Greek civilization was the third oldest civilization in the world behind India and China, so they probably get this musical sound first.

  • Me encanta!:D

  • beautiful,very graceful....!! ole....

  • Loved this video- miss Antonio and Christina - they were the best!

  • No lo leas! No lo leas! No lo leas! No leas esto! Si ya lo has leido pega esto a 5 videos ma! Si no lo haces tu madre morira en 3 dias. Hazme caso es una maldici

  • She looks a bit like Frida Kahlo.

  • The style and grace and common sense of the Spanish women removes once and for all the Burkhas =. Rekieves itself once and for all of the Moorish influence and rises in pride and beauty.

  • @anandanaga999 History is witness Moors had never forced any thing on Spanish natives in their 800 years of rule .. thats why spain and portigual are christian today .. the big thing is THEY ARE ALIVE today ... if you dont know shit why dont you just shut the fuck up .. ignorant fool

  • @astalivista121 Now see, you started intelligently then suddenly degraded DOWN into street garbage...who IS the FOOL?

  • @astalivista121 Huh??? Are u stupid???? The Moor did killed many Native Andalucian aka Visigoth peoples, forced them to converted to islam and make their women sex slave whic is they caled"Hareem" . so that's why Spanish take revenge on Spanish Inquisation, this is the one which made Portugal and Spain is Christian today. Read the book "The Andalucian" wrote by Morrrocan writer, at the time Ummayad Khalifah rule Andalucia(South Spain), 75% of Andalucian is Muslims. so u the one should STFU!

  • @bestorigultom At the times of moorish empire Spain was only Stable country in whole europe Moorish attacked those who resisted against Empire and they never touch the innocent. they ruled the land for like 800 years .. you need a few years to kill and convert a whole race .. Red Indians of North America is Huge Example .. European settlers Killed the whole Race and if any left they forcefully converted him/her in christianity and force them to speak english and thats all happend in 100 years

  • @astalivista121 U said "Moorish attacked those who resisted against Empire"

Are U stupid? Tariq Bin Ziad the Moorish leader from North Africa is attacked Spanish Empire when King Carlos III ruled. The Moorish is from North Africa, they attacked Spain and genocided the Real Spanish inhabitant the Visigoth peoples. Tell me is it the attacked led by Taiq Bin Ziad is the kind of resisted againts the Empire? they started the war u stupid? in fact in 1489, they tried to attack south France but Failed

  • @astalivista121 and BTW not all Moorish were expelled or killed by Spanish. 60% of them is was converted to Catholicsm and stayed in Spain. they always called "Mooriscos". and guess what 3 of 4 Colombus General commando was Moorish including Ricardo Vicente, the genocider of Aztec and many Native American. so the Moor who killed many Indian. in fact 80% Spanish ancestry in Latin America was the Moor:Brown skinned peoples. Visigoth or white Hispanic is just minority. so the Moor was to blame!

  • @bestorigultom YES 99% of MOORISH INCLUDING JEWS were KILLED AND EXPELLED it is History YOU CANT CHANGE THAT .. anothor Ignorant Statement SPANISH Colonists ''KILLED ONLY THOSE WHO RESISTED AGAINST THEM'' Those Brown Skin People ARE NATIVE AMERICANS and Aztecs in Mexico with white Spanish Minorty Today the Real Moorish are North Africans Morrocco,Algeria,Tunisia are Real Moorish Berber people

  • @bestorigultom and another ignorant statment from, Moorish and Berber People are not dark brown like Aztec and other Native south americans .. Moorish/berber People are Tan Skin People like other Medeterian Peoples George Lopez(Aztec Mexican) and Zenadine Zidane(berber/moor) or Samir Nasri ? you are in denial i cant do anything .. Ciao

  • @bestorigultom and those 75% were moorish and berber population of north africa who settled in spain after they conquered it .. Spanish Inquisation killed and Expel the whole Population INCLUDING THE GENOCIDE OF JEWISH PEOPLE IN ANDLUCIA .. thats why Spain and Portigual are Christian today

  • very , very nice Flamenco !! Ole'

  • hermoso °

  • MUY BIEN SALVAMOS LA MÚSICA DE MANOLO CARRASCO

  • This is phony, big city flamenco. Yes, it is very nice, but it is NOT the roots music, the SOUL MUSIC from Andalucia. It's like hearing Huey Lewis do a tune by Blind Lemon Jefferson or Muddy Waters.

  • Sorry, but could some ignorance about flamenco put you in a ridiculous position? What kind of instruments use your "flamenco", does Elton John plays in background too? Come one, there is no "anglo-saxonic flamenco". Want to see something real? Then think by yourself (but please don't destroy what is one of the most excellent artistic patrimony of humankind): /watch?v=xxfwm9N1L_4

  • You sound islamaphobic ever since the beginning of this discussion. I base what I know on historic facts and my upbringing. You base what you say on your prejudices. You don't sound spaniard to me at all. I can tell by your page. and your inflection in your writing who you really are. Thank You... don't need to comment back. You don't need nothing to prove...

  • @ForeroFlower My parents were Spanish, I'm American. I've given examples & cited history not vague generalizations, as do you.

  • برافووووووووووووووووووووووووووو

    Bravoooooooooooooooooo

  • Molto bello, ma che cosa! Mille grazie,

    Saluti da Chile

  • vrey niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @murggik Very much correct sir.

  • please say me what name is this song ??

  • please say me what name is this song ??

  • I wish I could dance like them

  • is this a solo dance? do they ever dance in pairs (male - female) ?

  • @murggik The Basques, Celts, Latins, Jews & Visigoths were in Spain long before the Syrians or the Berbers. Arabs remained a minority. Flamenco is a dance invented by the gypsies who immigrated from N. India & it most resembles Kathak dance with some Persian influence. Arabic dance consists mainly of isolated pelvic movements with very little in the way of intricate footwork or hand & arm movements. Flamenco is the exact opposite with the emphasis on intricate hand, arm movements & footwork

  • @mmedefarge Spain was Christian long before the appearance of the first Muslims with the invasion by the Umayyads in the 8th century. Christianity came with the Romans. Spain always had a Christian majority even during the tolerant reign of the Umayyads. When the intolerant Berbers (Moors) defeated the Umayyads & tried to install their own brand of puritanical Islam on the rest of the population, the majority Christians appealed to the Pope to rout them out.

  • @mmedefarge Flamenco is not like belly-dancing...It's an infusion of belly-dancing with gypsie style

  • @ForeroFlower Where is the belly dancing in flamenco? I see nothing of it. Isolated pelvic movements, the hallmark of belly dancing, in flamenco are as rare as intricate footwork is in belly dancing. The two are poles apart.

  • @mmedefarge do you know what the word infusion mean? I just said in the comment before that flamenco is not....NOT like belly dancing. It's infusion of both meaning you're gonna find extracts of both styles...similarities of both belly-dancing and gypsie dancing in flamenco. You're looking for exact bellydancing and that's not what i said or what it is. The arm and handmovements of bellydancing, the castinets are similar to the timbals the arabs use. Have you been watching Europeanized Flamenco?

  • @ForeroFlower Yeah, I know what "infusion" means. "Gypsy-style" dancing incorporates many styles, Romanian Gypsy dancing, Russian Gypsy dancing does not resemble flamenco. The hand & arm movement of flamenco share more in common with Kathak dancing which incorporates much more intricate hand & arm movements than does belly dancing, not to mention all that intricate "stomping-type" footwork, absent in belly dance. Spain is in Europe, my friend. I watch flamenco danced by Spaniards.

  • @mmedefarge If you watch traditional Sevillan flamenco it goes back from the time when the Arabs/Muslims ruled in Spain. They left 800 years of history. It's prevalent in the name of towns. In the physical features of the people. Look at the history of castinets and where it came from. The Gypies had great influence as well. Some words in Arabic are found in Spanish. I should know I am a daughter of Spainiards

  • @ForeroFlower I'm also the daughter of Spaniards. The Basques, Celts, Romans & Jews were all in Spain long before the Arabs/Berbers & most remained there long after the Arabs left. The Arabs did influence Spain but their influence is over-emphasized, there are many other cultures which influenced Spain.. Gypsies are from N. India. Dancers of both flamenco & Kathak will tell you that the styles are similar & even share many of the same positions.

  • @mmedefarge You speak basque, galician or what? since you're from the north you know its different in the south. Our customs are more mid-eastern yours is more european... You can't generalize for everyone coming from the North. The northerns are well known for their racsim. We're Sevillian. You're in your world respect mine.

  • @ForeroFlower Because I countered your claims with a few facts, you claim "racism"?? That's absurd. What "race" exactly are you talking about? Cultural clash, perhaps but as I said before, give credit where credit is due. I don't deny the Arabic influence in Spain but you negate all the other cultures which make up Spain. Spanish is still a Latin language, not an Arabic one just because there are Arabic words in it. Spain is in Europe, it's culture is European, not Arabic.

  • @mmedefarge i never negated anyone. I said the infusion of both influenced Flamenco. You took took it to a whole other level. Bringing out everyone as if i said the contrary. Flamenco was not around when the celts were there. It means Kathak but it came under the moors which was that culture of that time it then became Flamenco. Its the timing, place and people then. You make accusations then twisting it around to appear winning a senseless argument you created. Now that's sick...

  • @ForeroFlower What "infusion"? Yes they arrived during the time of the Arabs but they bought their own culture & dance with them. To try to coop that & just about everything else as Arabic is dishonest. You brought "race" into an argument about dance. You resort to insults & charges of racism because you have no real basis for you statements.

  • @ForeroFlower Finger cymbals are also used in Kathak dance. Kathak dance is an ancient dance form in India that predated the Arab conquest by many centuries. Perhaps they borrowed it from the N. Indians? Arabs seem to like to claim to be the origin of many things of which they are not. Give credit where credit is due.

  • @ForeroFlower the Moors who are Arab/Berbers from Morocco influenced Spain greatly. Unfortunately prejudice people do not want to give credit where credit is due. They bought a civilization that Europe was not accustom to and the Spanish Inquisition was a result of that racism in 1492 till this day

  • @ForeroFlower People of the Mediterranean often share the same skin tones & features as do the Arabs, not because of the "Arabs" but because of a shared environment. The music of India also has a similar sound to Arabic music, the minor scale, that "wail" sound found in most eastern music. The Arabs influenced many things in Spain but flamenco was not one of them. They are also outnumbered by the many other ethnicities which were & still are present in Spain. Give credit where credit is due.

  • @mmedefarge Bellydancing came from Arabia and existed when Spain was called Iberia. The Gypsies came when the Moors were in Spain. They were let in by the Moors. They came to Andalusia, so they have nothing to do with the Basques or N. Spain. The north had nothing to do with Andaluz. I seen northern spaniards, the culture, the language, physical features are european. The best seen Flamenco and those known well for it are in Sevilla. So stop stealing from the south.

  • @ForeroFlower Yes, the Gypsies came from N. India, while the Arabs were in Spain & they bought their ancient Kathak dance with them. I never said that they had anything to do with the N. or with Basques. The Indians bought their own unique culture & dance with them, so don't deny that they had any influence, because they did. I enjoy watching flamenco as well as Kathak dance; no one is trying to "steal"anything from you. My mom was light my father dark with black hair, so what? Do get a grip

  • What beautiful dancers! <3

  • Thanks!I love FLAMENCO!!!

  • The number starts out promising and fizzles out 2 minutes into the choreography with repetitious movements, turns, manton manipulating. The music lulls one into day dreaming, though very beautiful, it needed some climatic phrasing, dynamics and accents as did the dancing.

    Carolina

  • What is the with the Las Vegas style show?? LOL

Where is the passion? The zest? Or as matter of fact the "alegrias"???? Those who are so mesmerized by this performance obviously have not seen flamenco yet!

  • Seriously....or maybe they've just come from seeing Joaquin Crtes

  • I love the music and all the motions, they're deeply graceful. I want to, and I will learn flamenco one day. Awesome video it is. <3

  • it looks like indian kathak dance, mm is it a copy?

  • flamenco... kinda unusual instruments used here thou, many flamenco styles have oriental or arab resemblances

  • Close. It's derived from Indian dance. It's more obvious in more traditional choreography than in this; you can see the connection.

  • how do u know?

  • It closely resembles Kathak dance. Intricate arm & hand movements, positions of the torso & head but especially in the footwork because the dance also serves as a percussion. There is very little movement of the pelvis & virtually no isolated pelvic movements which are the hallmarks of Arab dance. Arab dance also features very little footwork which is one of the main features of both Kathak & Flamenco. Indians settled in Spain as well & the court of the Caliph also imported Indian dancers.

  • @mmedefarge yeah, how do you know?

  • I don't have any scientific proof that it is beyond all shadow of a doubt derived from Kathak dance but neither do the people who assure us that it is a dance derived from Arab dances which it does not even resemble. Indians arrived in Spain in two waves, the original people from whom Indo-Europeans are derived & a later migration fleeing Muslim incursions in their own land. (The Caliphate of the Umayyads in Spain was unlike any other in their tolerance of other people.)

  • was only having a laugh, sorry, no harm meant.(i know nothing about dance)

  • seems like such a relaxing art of dance.

  • Relaxing??? As a flamenco dancer one thing for sure, it is NEVER relaxing!! To start with this is NOT a "traditional alegrias" as the poser of this video says! If you feel "relaxed" that means the dancers did not communicate any passion with you! And that is what it is, a group of dancers without passion and zest!!!

  • Flamenco is everything but relaxing! ;)

For those who want to see some "real traditional" Alegrias, there are some here on youtube. For example, if you search for "Eva La Yerbabuena Flamenco por Alegrias".

  • Such a beautiful performance. The lighting is so distracting though. the way its taped doesn help either.

  • so amazing i love it

  • really love the music

  • esto no es danza oriental esto es flamenco

  • It's great and looks a bit like oriental dancing.

  • I'm African American and you wouldn't think I know much about Spain but I do and I have to say that the Spanish culture is one of my favorites. I love the Flamenco dance, this is a Spanish national treasure that should be introduce to the world. Everybody think the Spanish culture is just bullfighting but there is so much more.

  • Maravilloso!

  • E S P E C T A C U L A R!

Salu2

  • Nice.. Very Nice {;> love the music. A little dark to see dancers. Thanks for posting Respect, Taki

  • Great dance! You can definitely hear the Moorish influence in the music at the beginning (i.e. the drums that are usually used in belly dancing).

I lived in Spain (Rota Naval Base and El Puerto de Santa Maria) from 1976-1979, and it was the best 3 years of my childhood. Three of my favorite things came out of my time there: Favorite dance (Flamenco), city (Seville) and historical feature (Roman ruins of Italica, in the town of Santipoince, 9kms north of Seville).

    !Y viva Espana!

  • w0nerful, love it

  • Mashallah well anything from Andalucia is magical ... indeed Algegrias :)
