This is one I had a hard time finding too, one of my all time SJ faves. I must have played this 78 a million times! I wish I had a 78 of it now.
All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth (Spike Jones and his city slickers) , I'm Gettin Nothin, (Stan Frieberg) and Diddley Boop (Art Carney) were some I got from Dr Demento. Bill Mumy and Sarah Taylor did a very provacutive Christmas song, I've Got Something for Santa that I like too. And of course Jean Shepherd 12 Drinks of Christmas.

George Rock (the main "kid" voice) was quite a large man, so when he'd come onstage in a Fauntleroy suit, it would bring down the house. Besides playing "Little Georgie", he was a brilliant trumpet-player. And he was so integral to the band that he was the only one who absolutely could never get time off. Even when his father died, he couldn't leave to attend the funeral.

I agree - George Rock was an amazingly good Trumpet player. He had a certain expertise with manipulating the Mute while playing. He was almost able to "speak" in those child-voices with that thing. One of the most underrated Trumpet players of his day, I think.
I was looking for the clip of Minka or Sugar Blues but they keep taking them off YouTube. If you can get a copy of Spike Jones version of The Charleston - George has a great solo in it too.
