Unfortunately, you are correct, and if anybody has any doubts, just spend a few evenings watching the news from Peru. It's filled with all sorts of extravagant claims posing as legitimate news stories. This video is of low quality, but looks like it's showing something real. It's hard to say what, but a high-altitude plane is most likely. That contrail looks suspiciously like a jet banking.

Without having the horizon in constant view, it's impossible to accurately gauge speed, but judging from how long the object takes to move away from the "bend" in its trail, it's moving *way* too slow to be a meteor.

There's no doubt that it's not a meteor. However, I've seen many videos that have convinced me that they are craft that utilize a technology beyond what is currently known to the public. This one has a contrail and therefore does not seem to fit into that category. It is technically unidentified, but I would not be quick to argue that it is not one of our own.
