Good point, however the burning of fossil fuels does speed up this process unfortuantley.
As for those steamers? They can burn as much coal or wood as they want. The people there in Eritrea rebuilt those engines and that entire railway by hand. I dont even think the word pollution would dare even cross my mind when riding on that line. (as goes for any steam powered train these days...)
@WhyAyeMann The Eritrean people do not pollute. Our cars shit: Their trains are a breath of fresh air. Let's leave Eritrea alone so it can develop itself, extend and augment it's rail network and eventually electrify it. They've done heaps with no external help.
@WhyAyeMann Like you I'm just in favour of letting them get on with what they need to do. Poverty is as much a moral thing as a material thing. I'm criticising the British self centred way of life: Shitting for comfort as it is. Backed by a corporate élite who see us as pigs to be slaughtered when they've screwed us.

Global Warming isn't nearly as serious as some people make it out to be, I think anyway.
Climate change is normal. How did the ice age end, and warm up and melt? Well there certainly wasn't any industrial pollution to bring it about.

@G0IMB
Thank you for your understanding & RESPECTING THE WILL OF THE ERITREAN PEOPLE, self reliance.
After 50 years of war & wanton destruction, the Eritreans have came a long way to rebuild the homeland they paid a very heavy price to liberate.
Therefore, one can see their achievements in overcoming ALL ODDS & rebuilding a destiny of INDEPENDENT NATION.
Once standing on solid ground, moving from one technology to the other ain't as difficult as RESURRECTING A NATION from the ashes of war.
