@Shpwnicus i agree, i played ff8 7 4 10, 12, 3, 2, 1 and i got to say that maybe ff7 is so good for the nostalgia factor but it does not hold up with time, thats likely why square has not done a remake because they would rather keep the original instead of ruining the memories of the people who played it originally. ff13/13-2 however are more deep and engrossing and they can tell a much grandeur story while not having to worry as much about expectations over hyping it
@Samsonite1776 i personally like it because at least in the first one you could manipulate the paradigms in order to benefit yourself. Go to full ATB gauges and then switch, you get a filled ATB gauge. Auto battle chooses the best weaknesses of your enemy. However, it did not always choose the best move sets with the quickest movement. That's why you could choose your own commands and there was a repeat option so you didn't have to input your commands every time..just in case you weren't aware.
Why hate on final fantasy xiii and this one? This final fantasy serie was supposed to be a movie game in the first place like the makers said. So if you do like it gtfo.

1. they follow a pretty tedious combat system and lack of freedom, which i think will be fixed a bit with 13-2 with the whole time thing, but only time will tell, pun intended
2. square enix isnt willing to go crazy with new things by just sneaking them in there or even taking leaps of optional "crazy" gameplay. i would love to play FF 13 with maybe some online friend or something, or even a vs mode of some kind. i dono, but i stil love the games

A "real" fan is able to see past any fault (and believe me, each game had them) and appreciate the FF series, no matter what generation they're a part of. This pathetic game is for Gays and Girls. Ladies drooling over a 14 year old boy who turns 19, he looks like he had plastic surgery and Damn Hope is UGLY.
And then there is Serah, who is still 13 and with 30 year old Snow who looks like a Rapist.
Please, ladies. I know wanting a strong female in a game, but look how sexist SE is. They purposely made this game a failure so no one else would ask for a female lead again.

wow, over-reacting much? what you've said is nothing. all of it is not true. hope is 24 in ff Xll-2. Serah is 18 at the start of Xll. snow is 21in Xll. The main protagonists for Xll-2 are Serah and Noel. Noel is a male the last time i checked. Get your facts straight before you rant like a retard.

I cant wait for this game to come out. 13 was awesome, the story, the characters, the boss battles. The gameplay got old, but the story kept me going. Just because they've branched out of their old final fantasy battle systems doesnt mean that this game automatically sucks. Also how is snow a douche bag, yes hes gunna have some weird ass hair in 13-2 but he's still a badass. Hopes finally a man. This games gunna be epic.

Huh, just realized they kind of did the same thing they did with Tidus in FFX-2. He was the MC in the first game, but was absent almost entirely in the sequel. Same thing with Lightning I guess. Though I don't give a shit for Lightning, so meh.

i have 2 gripes about the FF 13 games and that is
1. they follow a pretty tedious combat system and lack of freedom, which i think will be fixed a bit with 13-2 with the whole time thing, but only time will tell, pun intended
2. square enix isnt willing to go crazy with new things by just sneaking them in there or even taking leaps of optional "crazy" gameplay. i would love to play FF 13 with maybe some online friend or something, or even a vs mode of some kind. i dono, but i stil love the games

Okay. I'm getting tired of people ranting about this game. Don't say that only "real" fans would hate the series now. A "real" fan is able to see past any fault (and believe me, each game had them) and appreciate the FF series, no matter what generation they're a part of. There's a difference between being a real fan and being a fanboy, and unfortunately, it seems that the series is overrun with the latter.
