  • fans from the 90's are also still well made.

  • @Daconthocon78 they still make good fans but you will not find them at wal-mart

graingers is a good place to look , get a industrial fan

  • @force311999 I recommend you to get a Vornado whole room air circulator, since they are the best modern day fans.

  • @Daconthocon78 those are great fans with real motors in them

I have plenty of vintage fans and furnace blowers

  • What happened to the plate that is located at the control?

  • @Daconthocon78 it fell off so I put it in a book so it would not get bent

now I don't know what book it is in when I find it I will glue it back on XD

  • the clips on mine are long gone... so I just use zip-ties. I wish that the clips not so brittle... still a great fan

  • Sweet, I think i have a predecessor! Which looks even clunkier on the in and outside. Which is a plus!!

Don't throw it away for being old, those fans keep running for eons!

  • @force311999 the center chrome badge has smaller struts inbetween the larger sturts in the chrome badge if you know what i mean, my sears fans are made like that :)

  • the design of the center badge leads me to a conclusion that the fan is branded "sears'' and not galaxy, but they are still good fans, i have many galaxy/lasco fans :)

  • @TheCrushBones lasko galaxy and sears used the same cages and the fans came from the same factory

  • that fan looks dirty, those fans look tough, i have mid 80s gaxally it looks similar to taht one U have, but My front grill ls little different

  • tell me about it!

  • Good video! I've got a very similar model.

As to the capacitor, your fan has a Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) motor. Very good running motor and energy efficient.

Lasko made fans under the Galaxy brand as well as their own name, as well as making fans for department stores like Sears. And yes, those are very well made.

  • ah I see, I guess I have to cut off the oscillator knob, (I always thought it was just mine)

    Thanks for the video!

  • i had to do that too. i sanded it down so its kind of still there. that 9 incher that i sodl pop right off

  • I've been able to pull the knob off of mine. It's kinda like those older GE fans with the rubber grommet which mounts the blade.

  • They just need a bit of force, they come off....I've done it B4 :P
