Actually, that "George" is referencing a classic Loony Toons cartoon where an Abominable Snowman takes Bugs Bunny as a pet and names him George.

Haha. Never made the connection before, but I'd still pronounce it Jorge. I think the writer would've wrote George if he meant George. It can be a reference to Looney Toons and still use another language. Especially if it's a parody. Still, whatever floats your aircraft carrier. Trivia: that's actually one of their stock jokes, in far more than just the Abominable Snowman episode, which I didn't see. Might've even been more than just Looney Toons.
