I never cared for Johnny Depp but I have nothing against him and totaly understand why people like him. That being said Blow is underrated it's main problem is that its to similar to boogie nights and goodfellas. Really want to see Rango. What's eating gilbert grape is great but Ed Wood is easly my #1 pick. I love that film.
On the commentary is sounds like it was the producers film and Burton came in and got full credit for others work and ideas.
Ed Wood is just so good. It's not the best movie but it's one of my favorites of all time. Dead Man is great and so is Fear and Loathing. They were going to cover a motor cycle race in Fear and Loathing but it turned into a drug crazed trip to find the American dream. I'd recommend you read the book. The movie seems to kinda gloss over some of the more brilliant passages. I still love that movie though. Good picks. And lastly "WHERE IS EDWARD SCISSORHANDS!!! OMG!!! IT'S SO GOOD!!"
@Smurfsoncrack95 It's one of my favorites too...definitely Tim Burton's best. I'll have to track down the book sometime soon. Have you seen the documentary about Hunter S. Thompson called 'Gonzo'? It's pretty interesting.
@theInnerdvdPattern I've seen some of Gonzo. I should probably watch it but for some reason I'd like to read more of his stuff first. Wow I need to post my updates. Do that tomorrow.
Yeah I agree, he's good with Burton but it's getting repetitive almost. Curse of the black pearl is an amazing stand alone film, kind of wish they left it alone. So with you on Fear and Loathing, that movie is a trip... PUNS PUNS PUNS! lol The Lizard is all i got to say.
@InsaneGamer66 Thanks! Great picks. I still need to see Donnie Brasco and Rango. One Upon A Time In Mexico would be an honorable mention for me. Definitely a fun Depp performance.
I am a huge Johnny Depp fan, but I didn't really like Sleepy Hollow. I mean, his performance is great, I was just expecting more with the movie
My favorite is Ed Wood as well! His acting is amazing, I love the black and white it really adds to the old feel to it.
I can't believe you didn't add Sweeney Todd, he made you really feel for the character, it was so believable. You felt bad for him even though he was killing innocent people from the streets. Great video
@babamtjayy Thanks! Glad I'm not the only who thinks Ed Wood is his best.
I actually haven't seen Sweeney Todd...I know I know but I'm not really a musical person and I'm kind of over the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration. It's fine for them to work together but it seems like EVERY single movie they make it's together. I wish Burton would do more stuff like Big Fish...using different actors for a change.
Top Fives are cooler, I'd say, than a top ten or twenty or hundred. It really is the elite. Only problem is there's much more good stuff you might want to mention...badly. The Oscars used to only nominate five films for Best Picture...then they got soft.
My top four Depps: Donnie Brasco, The Curse of the Black Pearl, Ed Wood, What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Can't pick a #5...plenty I haven't seen.
Have you not seen Donnie Brasco? I'd recommend that one highest of all.
@CineRam Top 5's are definitely more concise and to the point. Yeah that's true but if it becomes more than 5 then I'm tempted to pick 20 things and then it gets kind of excessive and probably annoying to everyone ha.
I haven't seen What's Eating Gilbert Grape or Donnie Brasco yet but I've been meaning to watch them.
I agree with you on the Burton/Depp collaborations. Both of them could stand to stretch their wings more often. I haven't seen Sleeping Hollow in such a long time. I remember not being crazy about it.
The first Pirates of the Caribbean is amazing. Watched it over the summer and it held up as a really great adventure film. I really like the 2nd film personally, but the 3rd one isn't so much bad as it is really boring & tries too hard. Depp is fantastic as Sparrow though!

@bigtoe512 Yeah I'm not his biggest fan either but I do think he can be really good like in Ed Wood.
I remember liking Blow but not loving it. I still need to see Rango and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
Really? That's not cool.

@Crisrav1138 Sleepy Hollow has always been a favorite of mine. I guess I just dig the overall setting, atmosphere and the story.
I've only seen the 2nd one twice I think and it didn't do it for me. Yeah I've heard part 3 is boring. I'll probably never watch it ha. Thanks!
