I seen him in January and was amazing. I got to meet him after the show, he is extremely nice. Im going to see him again this Thursday. Buddy is my hero and probably my favorite guitar player.
Saw Buddy a few weeks ago in Winnipeg for the first time and I have to say although it was quite expensive for me takin time or work and all, I would do it again in a heartbeat. He and his band were exceptional.
my daddy prefers bb king and ill give him his props, but nobody gets me goin like buddy. he leaves it all on the stage everytime. cant nobody sing the blues like buddy.
his recent release of this song is more mature. deeper, more depth. breathtaking,, makes you just want to close your eyes and just move to the music. it's much more advanced in it's musical draw than this. same song. wish it was on utube.
Alot of Jimmy Page's work is blues. >_>.... alot of songs in Led Zeppelin are blues. >_>... he just has his own style of blues. its still blues. and how his bb king unoriginal? he pretty much invented electric guitar blues as we know it. >_> same with tbone walker. -_- *Sighs* please dont make stupd comments.
I got to see him last night, the most amazing guitar player EVER. He walked out into the crowd, sat in a seat, and just jammed while talking to the guy next to him hahahahahahaha
in the bathroom uh?...thats swweet. how original can ya get uh?....i juss saw him at gathering of the vibes 07' in bridgeport CT....he came into the crowd and walked around for a wicked solo in sweet home chicago...thats balls man...it was a rowdy crowd too...keep rockin buddy guy!
When i saw Buddy Guy the first time at Hampton Beach in NH, he walked off the stage, went into the women's bathroom and played from there for almost 5 minutes. The best show i have ever seen. Instead of walking off stage at the end he went out the back door, down a long set of stairs, and got into a van that drove away, all while still playing.
The man's presence demands the most attention of any performer I've seen. Call it showmanship or charisma, I wouldn't have really known it had I not seen it in person. So much fun.
That is it, man! Presence. When you get in the same room with Buddy Guy, you know what all the fuss is about! He is alive! Damn right Buddy has got 'em. I've got 'em. And srv8813, you got 'em too! GRRRRRRRR!
hey! i was at bluesfest too man. I was the only one who yelled "son of a gun" the first time in hoochie coochie man. haha. then he did it again and made everyone say it. yeah man, buddy was sick as hell tonight.
I WAS AT THAT SHIT he fucking went outside during a solo and sat in a pizza guy's car and fucking WAIIILEDDDD with a wireless transmitter and he want behind the coach house and came back in the back that shit was epic.
He went out into the audience during the Green Music Festival in Greenfield, MA last night (walked over to the Pizza stand... think he has a thing for pizza?) Amazing!

paige isn't really a blues player, that's like throwing Vai in there somewhere. he's good but he doesn't fit.
i was never a fan of b.b. king actually. i think he just kind of rips himself off every time he plays and is pretty unoriginal.
dimmucoltrane890 3 years ago
yeah i agree about king and paige ..
it's about guy & winters in my (humble ) opinion ...lol....

buddy guy>jimi hendrix>stevie ray vaughan
in that order. seriously my opinion (or fact!)
2003JL 3 years ago
definitely not a fact because that doesn't say in what.
assuming that you mean musicianship, it cannot be compared. each have their own style.

stevie ray vaughan is a huge homo. he does not belong on that list. Try Page or B.B. King.
