just listening to radio 2,,its on the chart show now, with tony blackburn,lol..i forgot this one and was a great tune,,i thought ive gotta find this again...so ive got a real time copy now..so i can listen at will,,thanx for reminding of this grt tune
Ah, you have to admit, Buck's Fizz were great. Back in the days when music was..........well, MUSIC. They had a very successful run and deserved all of it. Great to watch this again after so long.
this was the soundtrack to dancing vegetables from a kids clip show in the 80's u.k, i think it was called ttv and had a cat puppet and a parrot, scragcat i think the cat was called!
I worked with Mike Nolan, Bobby Gee and Floella Benjamin in a pro-panto: Aladdin in the late 80's - they played a schizo Wishy-Washy; yes you guessed it one was Wishy and one was washy! Lovely guys; we had a great time; I played Princess Baldroubadour. Hello guys if you see this post
@kylienachani Sorry, this is another Wikipedia lie. Force 8 were a band from Liverpool, and the name came from the postcode, Liverpool 8, aka Toxteth. They had nothing to do with the Dooleys, who were from Manchester.
@kylienachani Not only that, but somewhere on the web there is a pic of the original Force 8 sleeve, with the band on the front, one of whom is black. I don't remember any black Dooleys! ;-)
I love this song. I was a massive Bucks Fizz fan in my teens. I even have a copy of the 12 inch vinyl album of "New Beginning" signed by all 4 members of the band. I still shake my 40-something toosh when I hear their tracks. Love it.
I thought Bucks Fizz did the wrong thing replacing Jay. They should have continued juts as a three-piece. Things are never quite the same when a long-standing original member is replaced and Preston looked so much younger than the other three.
Massively under-achieving single - No 8 in June 86. Remember it well, getting the lyrics soooo wrong, mumbling my way through the verses+then belting out 'Mombaaa Sarah'! Anyway, a fine summer record - their best+final hit in the UK.
Oh yes, their belated comeback single. Hadn't Jay emmigrated at this point? Anyway, confession time. I thought Bobby's mullet was coolness itself at the time. (My mum has always said I was a problem child. This must be exhibit A).
this is one of the best records iv ever heard . if this was re released today it wud be a cert no 1 . the beat is amazin . i saw them live many years ago and iv seen hundreds of groups live . none came close to bucks fizz . videotheque u are a master !!!!!! keep postin and keep rockin my friend....
Video looks like cut price duran duran wild boys video, and two years too late.. dodgy haircuts lads.. the best song they did with that dreary shelley preston.
This song is fantastic!! There are some great remix versions on Bucks Fizz albums. Should have been a Number 1 record for them (Originally recorded by The Dooleys, but never released!!)
There used to be a programme on Radio 1 on Friday evenings called Rosko's Round Table where guests reviewed that week's new releases. Occasionally (Emperor) Rosko would play one unannounced for the panel to guess who it was - and I remember this being played that way and no-one, and certainly not me, guessed that this was Bucks Fizz ! Should have been massive.

I've just looked it up on wikki it was done by a group called FORCE 8.
Who were believe it or not The Doolys under an assumed name..

@SeventiesMania Funny you say that. I thought the original band came from Liverpool aswell.
But when i looked it up on WIKI I just asumed that the information was correct.
Thanx for confirming my suspicion.

This was a cover version of a song by a little known band released earlier that year.
Has anybody any idea who the other band was?

who was it that got replaced one of the males of one of the fymales and who was it
frements 3 years ago
Jay Aston left the band, she may even have been fired, what ever happened it was not an amicable split. She was replaced by Shelley Preston.

OK, a few things spring to mind:
1. Bobby is a stunner! Humana humana!
2. The drumming is heartrenching.
3. I bet my sister likes the men in tights (pinkpaws1277).
4. I bet the dancers' legs are killing them after that!
Check out Bobby and "Big Deal" - superb!
Rock on!
