Um, most of American soldiers did not sign up for it, they were drafted. Your lack of compassion is sickening. The civilians who were killed were living in an enemy nation, North Vietnam. Far more innocent South Vietnamese civilians were killed by the evil communist Viet Cong. At least Americans TRY to avoid civilian casualties, unlike the heartless communists.

The greatest Americans have always opposed such schemes. Read Washington's Farewell Address or the writings of Mark Twain (a founder of the anti-Imperial League), to name but two. To hell with the "sensitivities" of the warmongers. The ghosts of millions of slaughtered innocents cry out for some respect.

Let me educate you, Filip. The Americans fought in Vietnam to help try and keep South Vietnam from being conquered by evil communists. They were fighting against tyrrany -- every bit as much as our WW2 soldiers were fighting tyrrany when they fought the Nazis. The Americans were the "good guys" in the Vietnam War, along with the South Vietnamese Army. The "bad guys" were the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong. Whether or not we should have been in that War, that's open to debate.
