Yes - one does wonder why the APU lacks frontal armoring? The "Animatrix - 2nd. rennisance" reweals APU´s with heavily fortified all over plating. One surely does suspect that its merely to distinguish between the actors?? -

I didn't watch it...as soon as it came on, I hit the stop button and went back to LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL SCENES, which I am eternally grateful for, by other posters who enjoy no nonsense and tampering postings, everytime you click on these postings they YOUTUBE records that you "saw" the thing..my only mistake is to have clicked on this waste of time..thanks!

Darn, they should have used scattershells for the APU guns. Shotguns whould have done more against the SQUIDS.

Maybe using the Flak guns from WW2 would have had better effect, other than those puny gun systems.

Or.. At least armor the units a little more. ESP over the cockpit.

Give them an onboard targeting computer, missile racks and maybe pulse lasers.

That's actually incorrect. Zion has been destroyed 6 or 7 times already so the robot wars happened probably 300 years ago or more. The robots they use are the ones they built and I doubt they are lacking for resources. They can easily scavange from the machines as they discard old materials or just hijack them from the machines.

I think the robots are designed simply so as to not to rely on artifical intelligence the Humans want to make sure they are in control of their machines.

Actually when you look at the shell cases from the APUs, they look like there about 30mm maybe 35mm. Im guessing a type of Sabot or AP round is used.

The towers guns Im thinking are in the 60mm to 70mm range
