I was reshearching some of the music I missed in the 90 when I was a kid growing up chought up in all the Toonamine,N64,poke'mon era on wikipedia and decovered this band.So far I love ervery single beat and wish mtv would have music like this on it.
I'm getting all the screaming trees cds. I have sweet oblivion and dust. Now im getting clairvoyance. After that should i go buzz factory, uncle anethesia, or invisible Lantern?
its crazy that on other worlds marks voice is so much different and in only one year he started to sing with the howl hes known for. thanks for posting this, i love the trees!
Awesome post! How did you crank the volume up so much? This copy is great; the copy I have (which is on CD) has much lower volume. I really wish they'd remaster all their older releases.
If you're taking requests, I'd have to say that Grey Diamond Desert is by far one of my fav Screaming Trees songs.
@halfcabdisaster7 Ah thank you kind sir. I dunno if I would call it admirable though, I just listen to what my heart desiers. Just out of curiosity though where else have you see me before?
@RushAnthem69 I've seen you on Desert Sessions, QotSA, and Kyuss. It makes sense that you are a Screaming Trees fan though because of the Lanegan factor.
@halfcabdisaster7 Does not necessarily make sense, but I get your point. Screaming Trees are in there own league sound wise in comparison to the other bands. But yes I've been listening to Queens of the Stone Age since I was 12 and they have opened me up to many other bands. But I have to be honest I'm not really a fan of Mondo Generator.
@RushAnthem69 I just meant that Lanegan is connected to those bands because he has worked with Josh Homme. Yeah I'm not a fan of Mondo Generator but then I don't really like Nick Oliveri very much.
@halfcabdisaster7 How could you not like Nick atleast a little...? I mean just imagine Songs for the Deaf without Nick.... No Millionaire, Gonna Leave You, Another Love Song. I mean Gonna Leave You is one of my absolute favorite tracks from that album. But I will say he can be a douche sometimes, and Mondo Generator is meh. But he is part of the reason Queens' made it to where they are today.
@RushAnthem69 I can give him that, I like him as a musician but as a person I'm not a fan. It's probably the woman beater thing that rubs me the wrong way.
@halfcabdisaster7 Ah thank you kind sir. I dunno if I would call it admirable though, I just listen to what my heart desiers. Just out of curiosity though where else have you see me before?
Clairvoyance is a rough album overall, but I think this song is not bad. It demonstrates the beginning of their sound - at least for the rest of the SST albums to Uncle Anesthesia.
@RushAnthem69 thanx a lot. i only found them out today (don't kick me, i'm young), n yeah, i have to agree after sampling a few of their albums, this appealed to me more.
@evrydale That's cool how did you find out about them?? Also no need for kicking, I can't stand it when people rag on others because they are new or know less about a band or such. At one point they lacked the knowledge too, such ignorance.
@RushAnthem69 I watched "Top Grunge Voices Of All Time" or something like that, and then found Mark Lanegan. I've heard of Screaming Trees before though I guess I was in a Soundgarden haze at the time. Now that's mellowed out, Lanegan's voice is a breath of fresh air; I haven't been excited over any kind of music for a long time.
I need a new copy of that album. THe one i have is all scratched to hell and back and the songs i rip from it...well they sound like cra as a result. Soon as i get a new one (or do an amazon download or whatever.) i'll be sure to upload it.
Mark lanegan is such a talented artist... he has worked with some of the best such as Nirvana/QotSA.... I pretty much love everything he influences with his music.
where are you lonely girl?

@RushAnthem69 I like that they were young and raw, but I liked U. A. best. A little more $ and time really brought them out. I love this one though.
