  • THEY'RE BAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK

  • ..they're back

  • Nice video :)

  • Best clip I ever seen.

  • Lovesss it. Pure genius. Rock gods. Come back.

  • Tits are awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i still listen to DIG religiously. Not digging this at all. Reminds me of Seether or 3 Days Grace. Disappointed.

  • @kellybrincks Who came like a decade after IME

  • dad "Hears song on the radio" blasts volume up

Child: Daddy? what's this song I like it

Father: like the sun I mother earth i listened to this song when i was a kid

Child: dad ill treasure this 4 ever

  • What a f'n great 90's song. First rule of bizarro IME is....

  • @siggy166

but it was released in 2003 wtf lol...

  • @SlippyGraaz

I don't know what happened there. I want to listen to this song when I'm drinking which is not to often now. I realize it is past the days I was crowd surfing at Edgefest having a blast, but I just want to live the dream.

  • FUCK USA

  • thanks eh? stace!

  • The dark-spikey-haired guitarist totally got his schtick from Rick Jackett of Finger Eleven

  • @witness10643 Correction, Finger Eleven got it from Jag. Just Sayin

  • @lancecclendening Finger Eleven was rockin way before that dude. Pre-popularity days

  • @witness10643 I will agree that Finger Eleven started in 1989 as Rainbow Butt Monkeys and I Mother Earth started in 1990, but every time I have seen Finger Eleven live (3 time in total) they were opening for I Mother Earth. Hence the me thinking they stole the do from Jag. But either way it doesn't really matter, lots of people have the same haircuts :)

  • @lancecclendening nonono, not so much about the haircut. Its about the style of playing guitar. The way Jag strums and stuff... his performance personality just seems so much like Rick Jackett. Though it's entirely possible that they both learned from each other and both developed it while touring together.

So is Jag the same guitarist IME had way back then?

  • @witness10643 OK gotcha now. I think the style of guitar was a part of the era as well. A lot of bands were doing that at the time and a few still do for that matter. As to the band line up, the only person in IME that isn't original is the Singer. Edwin left and was replaced by Brian. Something you may not know too, Jag is the writer of the group.

  • @lancecclendening Really? Man, that dude's got talent. I haven't heard a whole lot from IME, but songs like "One More Astronaut" just blow my friggin mind. SUCH good music. Jag definitely earned my respect. Thanks for the info!

But F11 is still uber-awesome. I just pretend they never left the Greyest of Blue Skies era. haha

  • @witness10643 I totally agree on that. Tip and Grayest of Blue Skies are awesome. After that....meh, more Top 40 crap.

  • @witness10643 Amen to that brother (F11)

  • awesome

  • Brian Byrne is unreal , better in person. Love the sound of his voice

  • i love this song and video

  • If you have time and like this band check out KEY TO CHAOS

  • It's starting to look a bit cheesy as the years go on...lol.

  • just pause the video at the very start of it, look at that d bag

  • garbage with out edwin, vote it down all you want..blue green orange or scenery and fish...no contest...

  • Shit reminds me of early university... Well done IME

  • fuck mexico lmao

  • Removed my words cause I really like this band-song, and I'm down with anyone enjoying it.

  • Comment removed

  • politics? honestly people, politics? why. the FUCK, are you people talking about politics, let alone arguing about it. if you love your country, love it, if you ahte someone elses, or hate on their democracy..just leave it the hell alone. and people wonder why theres so mych animosity between earths peoples. its because of people like you, bitching about the unnecessary things. bitch about global warming, bitch about the things that will ultimately destroy us all as an existence, not as a people

  • @19wayfarer19 Children will always complain. I mean children in a figurative sense, not literal, for the record. People that have never grown up(probably never will).

Wouldn't worry about it, or bother associating wiht them: stop to gawk, point and laugh at their expense -- but otherwise disregard the dregs of society. :)

  • @Kalenos thumbs up for you!

  • @19wayfarer19 Fuckin eh right man!!!

  • i wish we were socialists. but canada is a plutocracy just like your shitty country

  • sp -postal(usps)

  • I Mother Earth is one of those bands that managed to survive a change in vocalists. I would even say that their albums with Brian Byrne is better than the material they produced with Edwin at the mic.

It reminds us that the power of the band is not necessarily connected with the lead singer. I believe that Brian is not a better singer than Edwin, but he certainly puts a lot of effort into his singing and makes the song sound very earnest.

One of my favourite songs of all time!

  • Everything about Canada, except their Socialism, is pretty awesome...

  • canada aint a socalist there buddie

  • @ericwenisch try again, buddie; Canada is indeed a socialist country.

  • @Scrap5000 How so? federal police force (fbi), postal(Ups), parks, fisheries , border & immigration, forestry? But I'm missing one right?

  • @oprahsfatthighs I am not going to waste my time arguing about whether or not canada's govt is socialist or not. Do some research and you'll see.

  • @Scrap5000 It's all good, us Canadians all know that you Americans like to bring up the issue of our supposed "Socialism" because that's what your Government feeds you to keep your mind off their climb to Fascism. You guys will be taken over by a dictator and trying to conquer the world and you won't even know it because you'll be too busy looking for turrurists and wondering about Canadas political standing.

  • @parabalateralus yes, all true for 90% of americans. but i am still right

  • @Scrap5000 If you spend your time doing the same you belong to that 90%. Worry about your own Country and stop looking for shit that isn't there. It's textbook mindfucking that's working perfectly on you and a ton of your countrymen.

  • @parabalateralus I have taken the red pill, bro.

  • @Scrap5000 if that's the case you don't care either way. if that's the case you know there are bigger problems.

  • @parabalateralus of course, and socialist govts are part of the problem

  • @Scrap5000 I guess your definition of "Socialist Government" is any that require their citizens to pay taxes... last I checked we're more Capitalist than you...

  • @ericwenisch

shhh ... the fox news is strong in this one.

  • and this song was just put together quick, for a single for the record, i believe the record QSMD was done before this song.

  • I Mother Earth Kicks ass!!!Canadian music is AWESOME!! Except Nickelback which is the worst fuckin "rock" band ever!

  • @prodigy503 lol great comment dude! hahahaha

  • I'm in a trance every time I listen to this. I f'n love this song!!! It's definitely going on my funeral party soundtrack!

  • This is one of my all time favourite songs.

  • fuck i love local bands

  • Wow this Fn rocks

  • good tune

  • IME is the best band ever. This song should not have been a single. Shitty video too.

  • so good....

  • My absolute favorite album of all time is Dig!!! It's so awesome it kicks ass!!!! And is the best album with IME;) no doubts!

  • edwin's a useless tit...ime was better off without em

  • @Snuffy76 maybe, but not in terms of success

  • @Snuffy76 and you are WHO?

  • actually Edwin went solo and had some good stuff check out Alive, Hang Ten and others. Now he sings in a band called crash karma with some new good stuff out....

  • The old lead singer Edwin now bartends at a club in Toronto. He pretty much did nothing but sing on IME's first couple albums.

  • @JamesColton , and where is your band?

  • @JamesColton

I hear Edwin's new band Crash Karma much much more often on the radio here in London than IME...

  • @JamesColton

Oh, forgot to add when I do hear IME on the radio it is always the stuff they did with Edwin...

  • Their first album is amazing!!

GREAT album to lie in bed, and cuddle with that amazing woman...........

  • fuck you all. canada FTW.

  • @Superterrorizer13 - eh, go to bed!

  • @Superterrorizer13 canada is awsome!

  • @14sammas Canada is awsome ans so are Canadians.

  • @TAIMOOR82 thank you

  • like the sun for example

  • @analhemorrhage listen to the 90s ime, they were actually good. this ones lame

  • man this solo kicks ass too bad its so short

  • @ThaSkyhighatrist I'm ok with it. Gives me a valid excuse to play the whole video over again :D

  • @ThaSkyhighatrist : Therein lies its power ;)

  • @ThaSkyhighatrist This is what my lady says about my penis too :( *sigh*

  • YOU GUYS ARE GOOD !!!!

  • I mother Earth got better with every album despite the singer, brian byrne was luckily with them for the top two albums of their career! so good! nothing has ever had the same sound previous or present! man i miss them

  • no coma.

  • I was reading about this band & guitarist on another vid in which someone claimed this guitarist is very influenced by Carlos Santana, Hendrix, and SRV. However, based on his playing in THIS tune, I gotta say his playing is quite amateurish. So, which tunes to I need to hear to be impressed?? Does this guy actually play any badass leads? NOTHING on this tune caught my ear & it's quite formulaic. I'm assuming you people on this thread would know...What should I be listening to from this band??

  • @67goldtops rain will fall totally jams

  • Will check it. Thx, bro.

  • you wont find any of there good older stuff on youtube but he does rip it as does the bass and drums usually..this is more generic then there old stuff its more progy too...i dont know what happened to them haha hope that helps

  • Edwin left thats my theory

  • youve gotta check out anything from their first 2 albums when edwin sang with them. check out 'songburst and delerium' , 'raspberry' or 'no one'

  • So Gently We Go, No One. Anything from their first album. This song is from their last album, whci in my opinion is not mainstream at all, but others think it is!

  • Listen to songs from their first album Dig like Rain will Fall, Basketball, Levitate and maybe even some from their scenery and fish album like Used to be Alright.

  • Maybe they weren't so much his influences but rather provided inspirations. I'll claim some guitarists like Andy Summers provided a lot of motivation for me to become a great guitarist, but if you heard me play, you'd find no sounds of Andy Summers

  • listen to the album "dig". it's more progressive, the songwriting is better (different singer), and the instrumentation is wicked. the guitarist is pretty bluesy and he definitely is skilled though he may not be showing or implying it in this song.

  • i mother earth = best lyrics of all time

  • songs is good but the vid disapoints me. Kinda how like finger eleven guitarist used to go crazy on stage. that was cool but this just seems of a fad that ime are following. maybe its just me but thats how ive always felt about the vid for this.

  • LOL. You are a dumb shit, IME has been around much much longer than finger eleven, besides the fact that this band never followed a fad, which is exactly why they are fucking incredible.

    Turd.

  • wow way to not prove anything. I never questioned whose been around longer. This IME album has been around AFTER finger eleven greyest of blue skies and tip album. From those F11 albums, vids/concerts of F11 back in the day, they had a direct style when they go crazy on stage or w.e. Compare 3 days grace guitarist and IME guitarist ON STAGE and compare them to the F11 guitarist...youd have to be a moron to not see a direct similarity.

  • I think the two bands got their start around the same time, F11 used to be called like monkey something, and they were a funk band. But I think the only comparison is that Jag and F11 guitarist look similar (I used to think F11 was Jag's new band :( . Theyre both funk-metal, and make strange-sounding effects, but Jagori is way better than that guy. Oh, and 3 days grace is mostly shite, although they might be better if they didnt try to be so radio-friendly

  • i compelty agree with ya. rick jacket is the f11 guitarist. the used to be called rainbow butt monkeys haha. i mother earth to me is one of the best bands to come out of canada ever. i just never liked this music vid they put out...

  • yeah trhis is def not their best song, as it is one of the more deprtessing ones on a pretty depressinbg al;bume. depressing, bnut good

  • God I miss this band...

  • agreed

  • the emotion is what counts the most.

    i feel it so;[

  • Edwin was definitely better but I do enjoy this song still and wholly admit that McCain's voice wouldnt fit this style

  • you are so out of your element.

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, Edwin McCain is not the Edwin from IME. McCain is some pussy who sings the ballad "I'll Be". But Yeah, I agree Edwin wouldn't have fit very many of the songs on tQMD, and I wouldn't want it to be without Bryan on vocals.

  • cool

  • Great band!

  • this song is good but a little too melodramatic. not nearly as good as old ime

  • the singer is a newfie:D

  • corner brook to be specific...

  • Comment removed

  • I went to highschool with Bryan, such a great guy:)

  • regina or herdman? bryan and myself, grew up together in corner brook.

  • this song is so true to my life, i love this song. i love how heavy they made it and awesome guitar solo.

too bad they stopped at quicksilver meat dreams, to me it was their best.

  • one of my fav all time songs

  • LOVE this song and vid.

The power of their live show really shines through. GAWD I miss going to see them live. :(

    Thanks for sharing!

  • It's goodish but it's missing somethings... They sound like a very well played version of stuff that has been done many times before and after them.

  • The thing I really liked about Brian was how he seemed to put every ounce of energy into his vocals.

Great band either way, but a bit too far off the main stream I guess. Too bad...

  • Funny how their last album had a very post grunge sound to it. Just around the time that genre met it's peak. 1994 to earlly 2000s.

  • This and Rain WIll Fall are my favorite IME tunes. I didn't like much of the Byrne era (He's a fellow NFLDer tho!!), but this song is IME at their best no doubt.

  • Quicksilver meat Dream in my opinion was there best album. Brian Byrne's vocals are great on every track. Its a damn shame they are no longer around!!! Mind you Brian Byrne is now making country music...whatever pays the bills I guess.

  • This is at least as good as thier old stuff. But I listen to their old stuff more.

  • I wish they would've kept going the same road they took with this album... It rocked my world when it came out! I don't give a shit about Edwin anyways.

  • I got all of their stuff - its hard to say if one is better than others. They all got some really strong songs and some weaker ones, too. I liked both singers. I think QSMD is their most balanced, most intrique and most complex material they produced. Too bad they are not around anymore. When I am in bad shape, all I have to do is to spin their stuff and all of sudden the wolrd is a better place for me.

  • any ideea how can I got all their stuf ? I looked everywhere... nobody seems to have more than pieces...

  • i like this tune

  • lol ur crazy....they were better with edwin..

  • IME is the best band that evr was, especially when the kicked out Edwin

  • Clip is kinda crapy, but IME was and still is one of the best bands ever...

  • i was bored and browsed youtube for lost 90's rock video's and ran into this one. What a great video and song. This song sends me in a journey. I've been following IME since Dig, which I still have, and this is the best song by the group - Edwin or no Edwin.

  • I appreciate that, man. I think Dig is arguably their best album, but I don't have it anymore and I listen to the other 3 albums as much as I ever listened to Dig.

  • its not a 90's video

  • its a 90s band though

  • Does anyone here know any good funk-metal bands that are kind of like IME? I know like RHCP, Janes addiction, and I guess Alien Ant Farm, but I dont think theyre as good as IME.

  • Give early RHCP a chance. Very funky stuff..

  • love ime, from the first time i heard them to the last album they'll always be to me the best band from canada...true fans will hold their fav songs close for years to come...i wanna say thanks to the band for their music and hopefully future work as well...ime 4ever

  • I have quite an extensive list of bands that I love. But if I were stranded on a desert island and had a choice of five albums, they would be Lateralus by Tool, Superunknown by Soundgarden, Purple by STP, Tales from the Punchbowl by Primus and Scenery and Fish by IME. I know Edwin's a douche bag and everything, but I remember the summer of 1996 at Edgefest in Barrie, these guys blew Our Gaydy Peace off the stage. Too bad they couldn't resolve their differences. They would have been huge.

  • I love those albums

  • Alone in Nature

    You're in my head.

  • weird how you can't spell "but" ... no ?

  • Maybe he loved Edwin's butt.

  • well.. i loved Edwin BUTT.. this guy's voice makes this song :P

  • gotta love that edwin butt

  • one of the best vids in a long time...ime was great with both brian and edwin if you're a true fan you appreciate n support every album n song, shame the band isn't around anymore tho, by the way a band doesn't have to be big to be good.....ime 4ever

  • this singer is from Newfoundland

  • yeah, well my mom can beat up your dad!

  • these guys might manage my dads band if they come see my dads band play

  • My dads stronger than your dad!

  • wats that have to with anything and you dont even know my dad.

  • Can your dad squash an apple with his bare hands and not even flinch...I mean no eye movement at all...To this day i'm still amazed. And he could bust more but were not the bragging types.

  • My dad once bit a hole in a beer can, not those wussy aluminum ones either, an old school can of genesee cream ale.....

  • my dad exploded... and lived XD

  • Your dad is pretty cool then

  • Blue Green Orange is my favorite. They did a real good job on that one.

  • anyone know where i can get this album...been looking with little luck

  • Canada

  • brilliant band, both Brian and Edwin were solid in front of that great music.

  • i would have to say that Brian kicked Edwins ass tho im not a big fan of him... but Brian Fucking ROCKS!!!!

  • damn i listen to like vai and petrucci and shit but that was a pretty good solo

  • Jag is an incredible guitarist. Unbelievably creative. Buy the album. Or check out the tunes on the Quicksilver Meat Dream myspace page.

  • I dunno.. I'm a little old (31), but I absolutly loved the two albums with Ed. Dig and Scene both sounded very original (Dig especially). But this, and I'm not trying to start shit, this just sounds like evry other top 40 rock band out there right now.

Just one man's opinion. Dig and Scenery are AWESOME albums if any newer IME fans have not heard them, do yourself a favor and give them a listen for a few weeks

  • DIG was amazing and a pretty unique record, and after its release the industry was all over IME. Almost immediately there was pressure to change the sound, look and style of the band, until you got this...not a trace of originality. They were a heavy jam band drifting towards concept albums but suddenly, haircuts and 4 minute songs. Hah, I sound like a bitter old hippie!

  • actually blue green orange has just as many long songs as dig and scenery. You dont sound like a hippie, you sounds like someone who hasent taken time to sit down and listen to the two albums that IME released with brian. People like you are the reason IME lost all their support and ended getting dropped by their label.

  • You line up for the crash and burn. I'll open my mind as wide as ever.

  • Will the owner of the white Mercedes please report to the parking lot. you left your lights on

  • LMFAO!!!!!

  • Yeah lol xD

  • i'm finding my way

    <
