The scene just before the beginning part of this vid is one of the greatest depictions of overcoming brutal, corporal authority ever to be put on film. When the prison commander is "nailed" in the head. My favorite, tho yes, it's graphic. This film is high on my recommendation list for cinema about overcoming odds and personal redemption and attaining freedom.
