I moved to Victoria to retire, but after two years I came back to Ontario. The poverty and car theft in Victoria was depressing, and the fact that the city dumps 100% of all human waste directly into the ocean added to the depression. The people are so poor that they line up at Bottle Depots with bags of empty containers just to earn a few dollars.

I strongly suggest that any young person living in Victoria "to escape now", move to Alberta or Ontario.
