@TheHairyCrotch Is the label purple? Most likely it's not fake but it's not an original 1967 vinyl. It's very possible you have one of the 1987 US vinyl reissues. They weren't the best. They came out at the same time as the original CD's came out. I have one of "Second Album", "Sgt. Pepper" and "Abbey Road." The 1960's US versions have thick vinyl and a rainbow colored ring around a black circle. The 1987 reissues are kinda flimsy and have a purple label.

Any of the chain stores that have a legitimate corporation behind them ship out from their own warehouses and they don't process counterfeit pressings. A good rule of thumb is if you find something online at a price that doesn't jive with what the chain stores are selling that same item for...something is up. Not saying all the time but a product that is worth $100 should sell for $100 not $50.

Being an avid music collector myself and loving everything authentic, I would be pissed as heck if I get a counterfeit like one here.
The legit stuff may be pricey, but that is nothing compared in to the satisfaction you'll from it. Being a collector myself I know how pissed you may have felt knowing the stuff you got were knock-offs and a bad one at that. Hope you got your money back.

I purchased my fake copy through a seller affiliated with Sears online. A company called Electronics Depot. They said they would send a full refund. I just got it today and have to thank "thenerdherd" for posting this video. Aside from the obvious print quality issues, I can't even imagine how bad the fidelity would be on these CD's. I paid $108. I just hope I get it back. If not, Sears will stand by the purchase.

The amount of trouble the fakers went to to copy the real sets is extraordinarily more involved than grabbing lossless flac copies of the real remaster set on the net. I'd bet real money if you ripped the music with EAC it would be bit for bit identical to the real versions.

@kittey1234 Well, Ty, there is a few ways by looking on the outside, for one, is the green apple have a large area of black on the underside, this means that a laser jet printer printed the box, also, shake the box, if you shake the box, if you hear the discs hit the sides of the box, it is most likely fake, also if you got it on Ebay or amazon, and it was not from the offical amazon, and u paid uner $172 it is mostly fake.
Sorry that happened to you, but not surprised. I noticed at the very last post of the long abandoned ebay chatter blog, 'seller advocate' 'Uncle Griff' is promoting Beatles records. What a pure fraud! There was a lot of problems w fake Beatles records, sparking forum discussions for quite some time, but still the fakes comprise most of what is there.
Bottom line is that ebay is actually helping to destroy America, other countries & various legit industries worldwide, and collecting dirty profit every inch of the way. Avoid it!
You are actually a lucky with the Past Masters. My counterfeit one I unfortunately purchased had one disc on top of the other and it was a miracle that one was not scratched to death. At least I only paid $13.99 for that disc alone. With the cheep packaging of the Capitol remasters that did not surprise me but I am glad to see I was not the only one that had this happen to him. For all the money we paid you think we would get the best but now I am glad to see that we will.
I feel sorry for you man. The European Box Set on the Mini Documenaries does have region 0 , because its made in germany in EU. It is on the real box set , but if its on US , Japan or UK its fake. I know this because i got the real EU version. Your fake beatles box set doesnt have the FBI logo as your real one you have got for a hard days night. @beatlekas07 Not 100%. In the real box set, you have the mastered full quality AIFF's, in the fake box set you have MP3 rip from the masters, and burned again on the disc (which I aslo hake to note, that the fake discs are just blank discs you buy at the store, with printing on the frount).
It is amazing how people can copy everything, they are making the worst replica ever from the original box and sell for half price on ebay, same thing with pink floyd oh by the way box !

Beware this happened to me just today! Received fake ones, could tell straight away. Here are some things to look out for.
- Outside box (coloured writing is a darker green shade and there is a printing error)
- Apple on box looks different
- Singers names spelt wrong on Revolver
- Past Masters song error (5 Lady 5 Lady Madonna)
- Colours are dark, font different on Revolver, Doco CD has brighter red and a lot of bleeding colours).
Went to JB and bought a real copy for $300 AUS, worth the money

It was a total fake, I got it on the cheap, Well lesson learned.
For the Stereo Box Set I bought it one album @ a time so I know it's real & then bought the Box & DVD from a music store.

@beatlekas07 Not 100%. In the real box set, you have the mastered full quality AIFF's, in the fake box set you have MP3 rip from the masters, and burned again on the disc (which I aslo hake to note, that the fake discs are just blank discs you buy at the store, with printing on the frount).

It is amazing how people can copy everything, they are making the worst replica ever from the original box and sell for half price on ebay, same thing with pink floyd oh by the way box !
