The first elevator looks like it was something new, compared to the oldie that was in there. Those windows gave it away. I noticed the S and 5 look alike on the second one. Confusing if you're not paying attention. Wonder why the 5 wasn't that weird-looking symbol most often used, or have the display read ST? Weird.
I don't think this is Schindler. I have the same design in my dad's apartment in Riverdale. Lielevators says it was Armor, and I think that too because Armor is known for those elevators and Armor does most of the apartment elevatos. Unless you have a certificate or label, I highly doubt its a Schindler. Schindler also would have used their own signature vandal-resistant line, instead of these.
Nice elevator, and it's rare to see Monitor Controls signal fixtures, as well as the cornerpost design, which has the side opening. Also, is it a traction or hydraulic elevator?
These are traction. For some reason all of the apartment buildings in NYC and Riverdale have very slow traction elevators, usually mere speeds of 150-200FPM, almost like a traction.

The Monitor TR Series is a popular choice in NYC.
