I was in Uppsala last summer and I really loved it. Sweden is one of most clean (cities) and beautiful (nature) countries. And I don´t agree, swedish ARE friendly people (I don´t wanna compare it with any other nation, it´s useless). Jag älskar dig, Uppsala:-)

I've never been to any city with a more active nightlife than uppsala. That's pretty much for students only though.

which peaple? Sweden is almost inhabited. There are only 9 million peole in a surface comparable to France's one. Moreover, 1 million are born abroad.

Honey it's not beautiful, trust me. I've been living here for 8 months and it's been a complete pain. Longest winter of my life, terribly cold, windy, Swedes who are not friendly at all, i can't wait to get the hell outta here. Seriously, now i understand why a country with such high living standards is almost inhabited. Everybody runs away from it...even Swedes.

Just cause we don't look like we're gona eat peoples noses when were talking to them... but if you want people to be nice to you ..be nice to them.. so simple... although there are bad ones... but what country doesn't have bad people... think of that next time ;)

My question is,how is Uppsala pronounced?

Is it Upsala with the second p being silent?

Or is it more of a Oop sound?

lol i live in Uppsala its pronounce [Upsala](if ur english)...or else if ur from sweden...i can really explain cuz we pronounce the swedish alphabetic in another way

@mooneepondskid In swedish, a double consonant usually indicates that the vowel preceding it is "short". The U is therefore not pronounced Oo. It is pronounced somewhat like the U in "ombudsman".'

The stress is on "upp".

Both of the A's are pronounced like in "car".
