I do think he wrote it. I know Ron Paul's libertarian message doesn't seem racist but I think that, fundamentally, it is. He says that the people in his district know he didn't write it, but he never specifically states that he never did. And why did the article specifically mention the town that he lives in? Right-wing libertarians are fundamentally racist because they don't believe that ethnic and racial minorities deserve any aid through government programs. first of all, this is the textbook definition of civil rights: a class of rights and freedoms that protect individuals from unwarranted action by government and PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS and INDIVIDUALS and ensure one's ability to participate in the civil and political life of the state without discrimination or repression.
I'm not saying we should flat out "outlaw racism" because that's a violation of the first amendment. But I do think that civil rights include allowing blacks equal treatment by p
rivate organizations and individuals as well as the government. that's not to say you're legally obligated to be nice to black people. but I don't think CEOs should legally be allowed to keep blacks from working in their company, I don't think real estate brokers or store owners should be able to discriminate against black costumers, and I think disadvantaged blacks deserve an equal opportunity to get a quality education.

Logical consistency is important, but I think that the issue of civil rights has to be interpreted based on the time period. For example, if black people are less likely to be in living conditions that are equal to whites, then the government should take an active role in promoting programs that would extend aid. If you were playing cards with your friends and they discovered you had been cheating for 400 years, would it be ok if you started playing fair after? no. they'd want their money back.

it applies socially in the sense that if you allow the black community the opportunity to achieve and be successful then you could potentially create a more diverse middle and upper class. this would be equal treatment because many black people don't normally have equal opportunity to whites and so I think its the government's obligation to make it equal.

Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin which picked the seeds out of cotton easier. He hoped it would reduce the need for slaves in the south. It actually backfired and got the south ADDICTED to slavery. It increased the rate of cotton production and the south invested in more slaves so they could make more money. It symbolized one of the biggest booms in the American economy. Maybe they could put a price tag on individual slaves but there was nothing anyone could do to replace slavery.

and Paul and his associates were connected with an Anarcho-Capitalist named Murray Rothbard. Rothbard is largely responsible creating the Libertarian party. He, for years was part of the radical libertarian caucus but joined up with the populist faction in the ate 80's.

They are still friends, Rockwell spoke at Paul's Rally For The Republic. All an all Rothbard joined up with Buchanan proclaiming they would break social democracy. Later Rothbard parted with Buchanan though because Buchanan had too much faith in central economic planning.
Rothbard is a major influence on Paul. He was a major proponent of Austrian economics and the gold standard.
I support Paul, but most of his supporters dont actually know the reasoning behind his beliefs and his history. Did he right these letters? I cant be 100% certain he didnt. If he didnt then he is close to someone who did. Is paul a racist? Probably not outright. Is Lew? I could say he may be. Now Ive learnt a lot from both of them and I will continue to support Paul.

He says that the people in his district know he didn't write it, but he never specifically states that he never did. And why did the article specifically mention the town that he lives in? They don't believe in civil rights or affirmative action and many of them are very anti-immigration (at least if they're brown). Also, the main reason the civil war was fought wasn't over slavery. Lincoln never wanted to free the slaves, in fact he was a white supremacist by today's standards.

Logical consistency is important, but I think that the issue of civil rights has to be interpreted based on the time period. For example, if black people are less likely to be in living conditions that are equal to whites, then the government should take an active role in promoting programs that would extend aid. If you were playing cards with your friends and they discovered you had been cheating for 400 years, would it be ok if you started playing fair after? no. they'd want their money back.

it applies socially in the sense that if you allow the black community the opportunity to achieve and be successful then you could potentially create a more diverse middle and upper class. this would be equal treatment because many black people don't normally have equal opportunity to whites and so I think its the government's obligation to make it equal.
FYI, you can only make some predictions about what might happen in the economy with free market laws but that's about it.

Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin which picked the seeds out of cotton easier. He hoped it would reduce the need for slaves in the south. It actually backfired and got the south ADDICTED to slavery. It increased the rate of cotton production and the south invested in more slaves so they could make more money. It symbolized one of the biggest booms in the American economy. Maybe they could put a price tag on individual slaves but there was nothing anyone could do to replace slavery.

I support Paul, but most of his supporters dont actually know the reasoning behind his beliefs and his history. Did he right these letters? I cant be 100% certain he didnt. If he didnt then he is close to someone who did. Is paul a racist? Probably not outright. Is Lew? I could say he may be. Now Ive learnt a lot from both of them and I will continue to support Paul.
