  • Romans8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.

Pharaoh could have obeyed Gods commands? It looks like man, in his flesh, cannot obey God.

  • Does anyone know if this debate was done on Paltalk? if so what room? thanks.

  • We also read in TBO Revelation, that there will come a time when men will seek to die ,but they won't be able to.Talk about interfering with man's "free will",it appears that men will try to kill themselves to escape the torment of God's judgments, but God will not even allow men to die or commit suicide.Again,I believe that if Jonah would have tried to kill himself,God would not have allowed him to.There are just so many scriptures that totally refute man having control over anything not allowed

  • @CBALLEN

Agreed!! Have you ever listened to the debate between James White and Dave Hunt? Very frustrating to listen to a man clearly bounce around the text and avoid all Scripture that proves Calvinism or I should say, Biblical teaching!

  • @oldno74 You're so right,I've tried to find that debate again on the net and I believe that it's been removed.Didn't they have an informal debate while James was hosting someone elses radio show?If you know where I can find it again,Id' love to know.

  • @CBALLEN

I found it! You can listen to it at vimeo. Type in dave hunt & james white in the search.

    Enjoy!

  • @oldno74 Thank you so much Brother!

  • @oldno74 At the risk of playing the Devil's Advocate, it was nice of God to finally send John Calvin so that he could teach Europe and America what true Christianity is some 1500 years after Jesus' Ascension-seems a bit tardy on God's part.

  • @RPenta, Last time I checked John Calvin didn't teach anything new that wasn't already believed by early Christians who had copies of the books that are now in the Bible. Predestination, election, the scope of the atonement, total depravity-all those could only be found through God's written word. Without the written word of God, how could any Christian find those truths? That is why Paul, John, Luke, Mathew, Mark, etc.., wrote to the churches, to understand God's plan for those who believe.

  • In the O.T. especially.God is always prophesying ,that I will bring so and so against so and so,and they will do this and that ,exactly as I say. Then, all that God says will happen ,does happen. Now if God only knew what would happen, instead of Him causing it like He said, God would be a liar and God doesn't LIE! Why is God's soveriengty such a point of contention?

  • @CBALLEN

I agree 110%. Why is God's sovereignty such a problem for so many? God makes this happen, makes that happen, but we are to believe we have free will to choose God!!!??? "What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened..."

Goes to show you that to many people let their pride get in the way of understanding Scripture. Glory goes to God not man!!!

  • @oldno74 AAAMMMENN!

  • @oldno74 I've had sooo many people claim that if God controlled man's "free will"then we are no more than puppets. All I have to say to that is,I don't understand why God does what HE does, but the examples of what I've seen in the Bible shows me beyond a shadow of a doubt that God's WILL will be done, regardless of what man's intentions are.Look at Jonah for example,he tried everything he could ,not to do what God ordered him to do,yet God cut him off at every pass and Jonah did God's will.

  • LouRugg kicks butt. Yeah LouRugg! And remember Lou, I'm always on youtube...God knows how you run away from me on Paltalk all the time.

  • TurretinFan needs to stop debating Lou Rugg so TF will quit embarrassing himself. Lou clearly demolishes any opponent that comes up against him. He just preaches the Bible. No inferences here!

    (I'm totally kidding, btw.)

  • He totally places reformed theology on trial. With no witnesses, a biased jury, and a judge whose car you crashed into on the way to court that morning. :)

  • Lane, you are using sarcasm. A common attribute of most Calvinist. You guys are so arrogant.. I'm kidding as well.
