To everyone else, they have to base their justice on the hope that God exists. I can certainly see why a person would do this. It makes perfect sense to me.

It's the one time in a person's life where they are the judge an jury. Who lives and who dies, who suffers and who doesn't is completely up to them. To the person determined to die in the next 10 minutes morals and values have no meaning, the future has no meaning, the lives of others have no meaning. The world and all it contains is theirs to do with as they see fit. This is a very attractive and powerful feeling and it's a feeling of warm justice.

Amazing this doesn't happen all the time. Think about it for a moment, it's the end of your life, maybe you have a serious chronic health problem or terminal disease and have resolved upon suicide. Add to this you are angry and want revenge for wrongs real or imagined. There really isn't any downside for the shooter, it's a win-win situation for him. I'm really surprised people who get out of prison or are about to go don't do this. It has a logic.

Im not anti gun, i am very much pro-second amendment. But something is just not right about this. From what i have read this man was supposedly living on some form of government income-welfare or whatever yet he can afford to go into a gun shop and buy a new AK47? Or did he get it off the streets illegally through other means? And was his main target those military people?

Could have his actions been inspired by the hate speech that people like J. Hoffa Jr and Maxine Waters have been spreading?

@ZX2ManDave An Ak47 isn't expensive. You can buy one for less than $400 at a gun store. My problem was that this dude supposedly had a history of mental illness yet he somehow got a hold of an Ak through a store.

Why was there such little news coverage over this in comparison to other mass shootings? Less than a day later the all the major news networks were barely mentioning this. So many questions i would like to hear answers for. For one, where did he get the weapons? I know its a stretch and a longshot-but could have they possibly been guns from the fast and furious program, and thats why this is all being swept under the rug?

Did Sherrif Dupnick transfer to Carson City? Perhaps the AK47 became available during Operation Fast and Furious (conducted out of Dupnick's county). I have also been looking for complete stories on this, and they all seem fabricated.

Why do we continue to ignore the real culprit on rampage shootings like this?  Regardless of motive or anything else, 100% of all mass shootings in recent memory were committed by those on mind altering drugs (anti depressants). Howard and Ethlyn (It's OK, people have gotten her name wrong all her life) are my Parents. I heard about this on the news first. I read "shooting in Nevada" and I said "I wonder if it's Carson City" and it was. Then I said "I wonder if my parents are still there." and they were. My parents, my sister, my niece-in-law, and two great nieces were all there. I haven't talked to my Mom yet. They were held back in Nevada a bit longer because their car was behind the tape (and I'm not in the US now)

@HOLLYWOODILLUSION I lived in Carson for a few years also...in the late 70's.it's a tough subject to say who should be able to carry a weapon, we can't be to libral with that because we'd have the same problems as in the wild west days..a guy that under normal circumstances would be safe carrying around a loaded gun,but then he has a few drinks and someone pisses him off and the rest is history..That's why civilians can't walk around with a gun on their hip..in this case it would have been good!
