@Designing5 The memory should be set to the highest amount available. To check the ammount or RAM you have in your system you can press on the start orb and right clock on computer>properties and look under "Installed Memory (RAM)"
ok thanks yh i checked the correct ram, but my issue really is that it takes 15-20 seconds to get from welcome screen to desktop, im not sure if this is due to mcafee
@GigooComputerSupport how can you be sure that the amount of memory allowed improves the boot up? also i want to upgrade my memory from 4 to 8gb, is this worth it and what benefits will i see?
@MrMeztv I am sure it improves boot up speed as it allows the computer to use more RAM in the boot process speeding up the amount of time all of your startup programs take to load. Secondly if you would like to upgrade your RAM you would have to choose the correct model before buying it (DDR, DDR2, ect.) so you would not have to return it... and finally if you already have 4gb or ram the only major difference you would be able to see is being able to multi-task much more effectively & run major
@GigooComputerSupport ok the thing is windows 7 already uses all the processors and ram by default at boot. its the welcome screen thats making it slow for me
@MrMeztv You can try to disable some startup programs, and/or services listed in the description... Make it boot faster... Or if you have money buy a new processor/more ram... My computer boots up in about 15 seconds on a AMD Athlon II x4 with 8Gb of RAM (Also handling about 25 startup programs)
@winsevenholic I am not sure what you are referring to...
The services in the description can be disabled safely (you will lose some features according to the ones you disable)\
For the startup programs you can disable any unused one (Ex: In my video I could disable Skype as it uses allot of memory when pre-loading at startup saving me memory and boot up time)
In MSCONFIG you can also check NO GUI BOOT and it will boot a little faster though you will loose all of the Windows 7 splash.
epic music :)

is it safe to chasnge the number of processors at startup and full memory?
MrMeztv 8 months ago
@MrMeztv Yep, It just allows the windows to use the full amount of memory and every processor installed in your computer...
