I've driven a viper, and it is the easiest clutch I've ever used. I think this guy is treating the rather long engagement distance the same way as cars with a much shorter clutch engagement point. You've really gotta stomp the clutch and immediately release on a car like this, or get on the throttle a bit later. This car favors being more imprecise and ham-fisted with the controls.

@darkerside36 agreed; however it hardly looks like 700hp to me. I have a stock 2001 RT-10 it pulls very close to what this video shows. I hope to find a track where I can open it up like this and record it to compare. I will say that the clutch in a Viper is brutal not to mention the throws between gears are a mile long. I consider this above average shifting in a Viper GTS. I can also say in comparison, I had a 6speed Accord V6 with the S2000 gear box for 3 years, much easier to shift that

@darkerside36 All high perfromance clutches are harder to use but they have a stronger thrust; moreover, once you get used to it you get better at shifting fast while still putting the power to the ground much better than a standard paper clutch.

180 mph and it is still pulling off 46 miles per gallon, just like the Geo Metro! Not. That is some brutal acceleration, when ya pull off to shift, the camera almost hits the steering wheel. Note to self: I have to experience this.

@gregorybleach9 Long story short: It helps with engaging a lower gear more smoothly. And prevents wearing out the clutch and gearbox. Look up Heel-and-toe shifting if you want to know more. The way the guy in this video shifts has no meaning and/or effectiveness at all.

And man, with 500 ft/lbs of torque, she pulls strong.

im not a testdriver or a owner of 1 of these 2 beaotiful cars... but i'd choose the GTS, it's very fast and it can get very high speed with few mods... i'd modifie a SRT10 'cuz it's fast yes and more nice look, very aggressive look but the GTS is better and the SRT10 is not so fast as the GTS coupè is... but the SRT10 is more easy to find... and u have also your O-100 KM/H (60 MPH) in 4.9 secs.

Fuckin' amazing. I went for a ride in a GTS.

It was 460HP. The guy comes to a complete stop in the middle of the highway and just let's it fuckin' rip... We were up to a 100MPH before I could even blink twice. Fastest car I have ever been in. I was only 10 years old at the time too. lol. It was so powerful that it knocked a blood clot into my lung, and I had to go to the hospital because I was having trouble breathing hahaha.
