Making sure ducks cross safely is crucial to the safety of both the ducks and the drivers. If they weren't being protected, the ducks would be killed and plenty of drivers would probably die and be injured in a pile-up of accidents.

This is so great, and that not only did he stop traffic with his car, he got out of his car and helped usher them across the road. He really did put himself in harms way. Hopefully they did not try it again. I see a lot of roadkill around barriers like that, they should (if it doesn't compromise the integrity of the wall) leave space under for them to crawl through.
