I've just started taking ground controlling lessons. This video givis a nice idea and refresh the beginner mind about what was practiced during classes.
Very good idea and great way to expose the material!
I hope you keep editing other videos about learning paragliding techniques.
Thanks for the Video! Nice job on the editing and contents. I have somewhat different system (usting the D-lines as you mentioned) but I still like the way you sort out the gripping of the A-lines and brakes!
Nice idea, and good video work inc. the editing (I also like the pause to give time to read)..
That said about 95% of the safety checks I would advise are missing, perhaps the most serious is when it comes to busy flying sites is the lack of 'Airspace' checks before moving the wing off the ground.
NB I've seen a LOT of accidents at launch with pilots taught those 'holding' methods, esp. when flying with a decent wind
Of course this video can`t show the whole real launching process. Of course you have to do your 5 step preflight check, but i can`t show everything in the video. It`s just a help to learn a new method of connecting nothing else.
Hi Parabolous Yep, I've been teaching how to clip in while facing the wing to basic students EMPATHISING that this is a more advanced method, IDEAL for clipping in in STRONG (15-20kt) conditions, since the late 90's.
I like your mention of the 'left over' OR 'right over' (depending on the pilot) options, which I also teach, i.e. I teach a LEFT handed pilot as if I was a LEFT handed Instructor (I'm naturally right handed)
BTY We use a climbing carb to 'keep' risers when not in use :-)
Wonderful video!
