@Dano94910 Gm/Bb M Pentatonic and blues scales mainly. I first learnt all the shape and notes of Am/C until I could play it blind - once you have that down you can just move the shapes to any part of the guitar - to suit what ever key you want to play in. Basically, this is what any good guitarist does and it makes improvising easy and fun. Best way to practice is to try and jam over rnadom tracks and guess the key - I noticed all my favouraite tunes were in Am/C, Gm/Bb or Em/G
Excellent, not too much , over-the-top, annoying buzzy distortion, in fact very good tone, best Gilmour Tone I've heard so far on youtube! You definitely know how to get the most out of your amplifier. I vouch for the MIM startocasters, they are better than what most people would like to make you believe.
And you know how to play, especially with the vibrato bar. Just too bad it wasnt louder, your pick noise is in the way!
@QuiltedPine Thanks for the comment, I actually hate the tone on this video and the playing looking back - it's too rushed and there's no rests. I always play liek c**P when recording. I have a more recent post where the sound is direct and I'm much happier with the tone (thanks to a few glasses of wine) which is now through a GT10 and a e/h cathedral reverb - look for shine on.
Hi, Nice playing! i think it would be even better if the volume was up a bit more so the acoustic notes could not be heard, ... what is that beautiful guitar with the zebra pickups on the right? is that a gibson or some other make? would love to hear that one , i am a sucker for zebra pickups, thanks for posting! Will in Massachusetts
I really like the tone you get on this song. I think so many of the tones you can get from a line 6 spider jam are monotonous as far as the built in tones. I have made a couple of videos with the line 6 spider jam as well. Give a listen when you get a chance.
Thanks - they're quite good at low volume so would be a good buy - but I would also recommend a Cube RX or (if you have lots of cash) Boss GT10 and a pair of headphones/speakers - I used one of these (GT 8) with a mixer and small pa and they're also spot on - I've only demo'd gt10 but it's got the same stuff as the 8. Tube amps are the best but no good unless you can play them really loud. I just biught a spider as I was bored and wanted something else to play with !!!
It does at a push as I've tried a bass through it once, but it's not designed as a bass amp - so you're probably best looking elsewhere. If you want good effects for bass just get a BOSS ME 50B and hook it up to any amp - cheap easy to use and they sound great.
hey m8 there is a cd/mp3 line in socket. so you just need a 3.5mm to 3.5 mm jack and your sorted. one side to ipod headphone socket, other spider jam. infact it dont need to be an ipod anything will do
sorry, Messed my comment up. My ibanezsas36fm and this amp rock.Just love pink floyd too. can you mp3 this track up and send me it :) I always looking for nice backing tracks.
Thanks for the commnet - Amp settings are on the info - amp set to green metal channel with 80% reverb. I also used a CS3 compressor pedal straight into the jam.
Hi mate some nice playing there, do you think does this amp is enough loud to play on the street? I m thinking to get one and play the way as you did on this video, cheers
defintely loud enough - you could even use this for a pub / small club if you crank it. Put it this way - in my house I think I'd upset the neighbours if I cranked it past 1/10th of the master volume. Warning though - it's not battery powered so you'd need a small generator or power supply. Try the Roland Micro cube RX which is also really good and loud enough ( played one in a shop once )
love guitarist magazine...they have just made another pink floyd like solo in this months issue (feb) 312number. see if u can find it... its like a remix of the epic solo from another brick in the wall pt2...
Ah, not bought this months although I flicked through it the other day. Now I know there's a track in there I'll have to purchase. Thanks for the comment.

Straight into the line in at the front - the adjust the patch volume against master volume (note the ipod must have volume 100% or it sounds awful)
