  • Mesmoreizin stuff

  • Wonderful!

  • hahahaha yes!!!!!!

  • Too good!

Glad I just checked my email subscription alert - I almost missed this one.

  • haha yer its worth watchin (ummm with the volume down) (and a cookie in hand!)

  • BTW, as for the Bm/B combination, no worries, it's just a musical style of tonal dissonance:

"An unstable tone combination is a dissonance; its tension demands an onward motion to a stable chord. Thus dissonant chords are 'active'; traditionally they have been considered harsh and have expressed pain, grief, and conflict."

    —Roger Kamien (2008)

You guys have much pain, grief and conflict??

  • sometimes maybe no yes ok welll...ummm

  • Did you say you had some cookies? What kind?

  • macadamia and choc chipped :D tasty

  • Awesome as always!!!

  • shucks thanks :D

  • I hope no larynxes were damaged in the making of this video. I mean to say you have had to smoke a million ciggies and drunk a thousand bottles of whiskey before you can even attempt extreme vocal renditions... one whiskey before christmas was surely taking things lightly, the respiratory tract between the pharynx and the trachea, which contains the vocal cords enveloped in folds of mucous membrane needs years of lubrication with distilled beverages before extreme vocalisation is attempted

  • well done guys.

    STeph.

  • cheers happy 2010

  • ha, brillo!

  • the vocals sell it. plus random melodica always sells anything :D

  • Brillo!!! that metal polish... so that is the secret... but isn't it a bit dangerous to drink it just to get a Tom Waits voice?

  • its is but its worth it for the sake of the art.... that's our excuse and we're sticking with it :P

  • eheheheh cool :))) ciao guys! :))*****

  • yah! thanks max

  • I love Tom Waits, one of my favorites and this was really good. Amazing what a sore throat can do! What, did you guys get a book on must theory for Christmas??? I thought Bb over Bm was normal, it is a B after all! You know the flat 3rd, smashed 7th, squished 9th. It's all good! Happy New year!!

  • ouch to sore throats and too much rum

    Happy New Year :D

  • haha Just awesome. keep it up, guys.

  • Captain Gangles vocals are rockin yet again on this one - thanks so much - peace!

  • nice job with the experimental jazz chords

  • tee hee :D thanks ;)

  • Well done, Captains. Some hot rum should fix you right up, Gangles.

  • well its cold rum that got him into the troubles with his voice in the first place ;) Happy New Year

  • Little Tommy Waits would be proud!

Speaking of God, is Captain Notsosane away on business?

  • indeed - back soon though - can you feel the excitement :D:D

  • Yahoooooo!

  • I had never heard of this, so I went and listened to it, freaky, lol. This does justice to it, lol. Great job, now go drink loads of water :oD

  • oh you said water...ohh...ooops :D

Happy New Year...even all the wrong notes on melodica cant ruin this masterpiece.. .but we tried hard!

  • wow, that voice is pretty close to the original.

    5 stars.

  • not bad hey :D tee hee Captain Gangles is a genius hmmmm thanks mate :D

  • This is so great!

  • All it needed was some bacon and then it would of been 110% great....thanks Deach

    Happy 2010 mate :D

  • ha ha classic

  • even throat troubles can't hold us back!

  • Good to see you alive! Where were you the last few days?

BTW: Nice cover! I liked the jazzy approach...

  • thanks man :D jazzy is always good

  • Awesome as usual !!

  • wonderful of you- as usual ;)

  • Tom Waits 's cool but you're even cooler!

    (cooler than cool,cold?Nah!)

  • He is :D we also like cookies

  • Lightning bolt. Duck!

  • Quack!

  • Wrong kind of duck.

  • woof!

  • More like, AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Kenny quickly figured out the little 'horn' part (or part of it at least). Then we released it'd sound better played over the previous verse (after the guitar changes key). The sound modulates between Bbm and Bm. So that grating riff is made all the more spectacular by the fact that Gangles is on a Bm chord and Kenny starts on Bb. Although the melodica is now already a little off key, this I think you'll agree Don makes for a tasty sound experience :P

  • Make sure you include that in the band documentary. When is that coming out, by the way?

  • @DearOldNutjob Tuesday

  • nice one you guys,

    cheers

    Ken G

  • Happy Christmas :D
