Who ever hates on pick is an amateur that doesn't know that a Bassist should be more versatile and that the pick is for other things such as punk rock, you don't hear pros talk down on picks cuz they know stuff about bass, only retards think a real bassist uses only fingers if you are suppose to follow that principal then a guy that plays those old long fat wood basses should tell you ur not a bassist cuz u use electronics...see how stupid that sounds, almost as stupid as talking down on picks
Your guys long running debate is getting old. So Ill end it for you now.
I'm not using a pick, I'm using the back of my nails. Yes its Weird. It looks like I'm using a pick. You don't have to believe me.
I do not like using a pick,
HOWEVER, A good bassist should be versatile, this includes being good with a pick, slapping, finger picking, tapping and so forth. Someone who focuses only on a single style is limiting themselves and their music.
@iadans yes! I agree. Bass players need to do all styles. It If you know one genre. you are limited. Funk, Motown, rock, Metal, Blue grass, Country, Blues Jazz, And Orchestral are all bass oriented styles. Plus many more! learn all you can.!
Its a Morley, I personally don't recommend it as it has a very obviously click when you engage it so you have to be very precise to avoid it. Maybe I just got a lemon though....
That was friggin sick man, completly awesome:) Do you reccomend that bass by the way? Im looking for a new one and i heard the deluxe p was sick, but wasnt sure if i should go that or a jazz. Mad playing though:)
@DL345 No it wasn't uncalled for. Answer the question and stop acting like you've been assaulted, you pussy. Are you the pick police? Who the hell cares if he's using a pick? I use slapping, tapping, fingers, and a pick. Whatever the song requires that I write. Stop trying to dictate how someone should play and what they should use. Dumbass
@diamonddust22 Firts off, i never said that he should or shouldnt use a pick, i know the importance of doing different styles. Scond i was pointing out to another person to show that he wasnt using one (in case he missed it). Third, im not going to fight on this guy's video when he wont want random youtube fights on his videos.
@KreatorOfDeath1985 Okay... so I will disregard any band that's bassist uses a pick. Damn, Kiss, Tool, Metallica, Motorhead, almost EVERY Punk band, damn. See why that kind of close minded thinking doesnt work? PS: I realise this is a 7 month late response, oh well.
@KreatorOfDeath1985 Last time I checked, MUSIC is not about skill. Its about Music. I agree, yes playing finger style is a bit tougher, classical finger picking being IMO the toughest to master. Just because it takes less skill to play with, doesn't mean it isn't capable of sounding awesome! Plus you don't get blisters, or sore fingers. I find it weird that only bass players really care HOW you play. Guitarists couldn't give 3 shits how you played, but just whether you play or not at all. tryvm

@KreatorOfDeath1985 not necessarily ask anyone that plays lead guitar ask them what was easier when learning guitar playing with your thumb or with a pick they'll say, thumb, if guitar solos sounded just as good with ur thumb then nobody would use a pick cuz it's harder, but if your learning bass a teacher would recommend learning fingers first, pick is hard, fingers are harder in solos but picks are hard to if ur doing hard solos also, unless ur fingers are as fast as geddy lee
Nice use of the bass od. It is hard to get your notes to ring- out clearly when using a distortion or OD on bass, but you nailed it. Guess I gotta get a Digitech Bass OD now. What amp you using?
it never ceases to amaze me the tones people come up with. I really like what you got goin on in this video. I could definately see this in a song. Nice bass btw
awesome set up man, gotta say, really diggin the sound of the riff too, kinda like a dance track in its self, but just on ur bass, awesome, keep it up more
Yep, I was using a morely bass wah pedal, which I actually dont like very much cause it has a very noticeable transition from the wah being on and off that no amount of level tweaking can deal with. and if you argue against that then your argument is invalid

IceyFlame500 4 months ago
@IceyFlame500 Using a pick is much easier than using your thumb on guitar?
destroysubgenres 3 months ago
@destroysubgenres Yes, because a thumb is more natural while a pick is making ur brain used to using an object to do something
IceyFlame500 3 months ago
@IceyFlame500 But your thumb just isn't as quick, not if you're just starting. It's much eaier to use a pick on guitar at least.
destroysubgenres 3 months ago
@destroysubgenres im not talking about speed, its easier to use ur thumb then a pick, ask any guitarist, it took time to get used to the pick
IceyFlame500 3 months ago
@IceyFlame500 This guitarist disagrees
