  • that was dumb

  • i just bought 2 wisco power bands and im going to custom rig it so im running 2...im going to be the fastest hahaha

  • @SYRUPnSPRITE damn she must be fast? did you get the lt edition black and purple?

  • @m0t0cr0ss17 powder coated powerband naameeean

  • lol damn people on u-tube r tough

  • i was riding yesterday and i snapped my powerband in half :( it was a solid silver one too, its like 500$ this blows!

  • @MrHolesh0t

i dont know if youre a troll or just really stupid

  • people, i see this on EVERY dirt bike video. so imma teach all you retards something, POWERBAND IS ON EVERY ENGINE. 4 stroke or 2 stroke, it has a powerband!

  • LOL, n00bs with their red powerbands.. the Wiseco Blue powerband is best!

  • hahahahahahaha, u are all stupid, u know the rainbow powerband provides the most power!

  • Them things are UGLY!

  • that kx500 would go a lot better with a blue powerband. It probably still has the stock red powerband.

  • 2 stroke has a more narrow power band and a 4 stroke has a wider power band.

would also be the correct way to say it

power band is the rpm range were the motor is producing optimum power to the back wheel

be it a car or motocross bike

  • @joshfuckingpalmer the correct statement is when the sound wave in the pipe is at the right level and creating the right back presser the motor is at it best performance

that is why you have the power hit at the right rpm ranger

that is why you can use defrent pips to tune the 2stroke for more torque or hp and you can also tune it like i have mine and that is with a very long torque curve so that it responds allot smother and i do not feel much of a power band hit on my cr250r

  • What's this bullshit people keep saying about four strokes not having a powerband?

    Every engine has a powerband.

A fucking lawn mower has a powerband.

Ever seen a dyno sheet? Notice how at a certain RPM the engine makes a peak horsepower?

    Definition of powerband...

The RPM range an engine reaches peak power. Shut up with this bullshit. Lol, if four strokes don't have powerbands, then diesels use spark plugs.

  • Dude I really think they both have three wheels and it looks like the 500's in an actual three wheeler frame because of the shorter forks and the wide ass tire up front.

  • @joshfuckingpalmer slayeryz250 is right you r a dumbass

  • grazie al cazzo

  • croth rockedts win

  • @joshfuckingpalmer all engines have a power band. Power band is in its simplest form, the distance between the peek torque and hp curve. 4 strokes are just often tuned for a wider more usable band. They could be valve timed to have a narrower band and would be snappy like a 2 stroke, but the wide expansion pipes on 2's also help with the snappy tuning. Consider 4 stroke exotic cars like the Porsche Carrera GT formula model, or something running some type of air charge delivery.

  • @raredesign so why do they employ 4 strokes in motocross now, not earlier???, 2strokes kiicked ass, power band sooner, ur theory is BS

  • Comment removed

  • @destined2sleep You obviously don't understand engines. Four strokes were brought into motocross due to some state regulations closing in on emissions. 2 stroke manufacturing was slimming, and 4strokes were being marketed heavily.

This is not the case now, as 2 strokes are coming alive again. There are obvious differences in the two designs, and I am simply not explaining it, but if you don't know the basics, then I suggest you read up rather than try to tell someone (me) off.

  • @raredesign variable valve timing allows a flatter powerband. It keeps valve lift at an optimal increment for maximum efficiency. That is why the new Ford 5.0 feels like a big block, because it has vvt. Nice flat powercurve. Where as you have a 350 with a big cam, you dont get to use the big cam power til you get to the 4th or 5th octave.

  • @joshfuckingpalmer I hear ya man. I used to ice race TT on my 02 KX500. Try it out man, it is a rush. Plus, wipeouts don't hurt as bad...just stay away from the several hundred screws in the tires lol.

  • lots of people on here commenting have never ridden a 500, that much is clear. 0 -- 60 in what 4 seconds, 60 mph - top gear, you have to kick it through the gears quick, you don't need to mess about revving out every gear, a bike that powerful was made for short shifting.

  • power band aka 12 gran on a r6 lol

  • Don't forget to buy the high tension piston return springs and AllBalls muffler bearings. I completely agree with the graphics as well. They clearly add horsepower, why do you think all the pros have decal kits?

  • four strokes have a powerband, its just more broad then a two stroke

  • @brandonryanploughman really? shit dude! i think hell just froze over!!!

  • i just ordered my powerbands last week, i cant wait to install them. lmao!

  • @dh450 did you get the pink ones? I heard they rock! hahaha

  • @91jwalk91 I ordered the pink one lol along with some high performance graphics haha

  • hahaha yea NO KIDDING! the powerband starts where you make maximum torque and ends where you start losing horsepower hahaha anything that makes power has an RPM range known as the "power band" it's not a component that only 2 stroke engines have

  • hahha powerband is the rev-range where the engine delivers its peak HP.... its a lot more prevalent on a 2-stroke though...

  • nonono its a power "band" like a rubber band haha people are funny

  • @Milk4ndCereal A lack of a GOOD powerband is prevalent on a 2t. Love 2 strokes but sometimes their powerband is less useful.

  • @Milk4ndCereal not horse power, torque!

  • @Milk4ndCereal True its more prevalent on a 2-stroke but part of that reason is because the powerband is at the bottom of every gear on a 4-stroke so you can't feel it hit.

  • @Milk4ndCereal all motors have powerbands but the 2 strokes are stronger in their powebands

  • lol racing powerband wtf is that haha idiot you dont know what a fucking powerband is

  • i love the way most the people on here have noo idea what a power band is lool

  • @hadley890 Seriously. Idiots...

  • @hadley890 i put one of those in m bike the other day, it was black and purple cuss i got a yamaha it looks good... trust me i know this stuff

  • i have a racing powerband fitted to my bike, it gives me an extra 23rwhp.

  • are you joking?

  • yeah.... its sarcasm

  • lol

  • LOL

  • half the people that talk about powerbands dont know what it means. i saw a post earlier today talking about "i just ordered a new powerband for my YZ, itll be so fast now" LMAO!

  • lol some people are so stupid

  • lol

  • lololololololololol, omg omg i just baught aq new power band for my crf 250 llol

  • do your 250 go 200mph with the new power band? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! any ways what if u where 4 real... lol

  • the 500 didnt even hit powerban :[ pussy

  • even if it did it still would have lost....

  • nk do you even know how 2 strokes work? lol

i only ride a 250 and it pulls twice as hard once you get into that powerband..

so considering that the kx500 kept up without even hitting the powerband i think if he did the race would have been all kx shooting dirt in the other guys face

  • ok even if it did hit the powerband still would have been the same. and also theres like 5 gears on the kx? if so it has 5 powerbands....its when the engine can maximum proformance (RPM) and is diffrent from every gear.... and also dont act like the crotch rocket dont have a powerband...

  • lol yes the crotch rocket has one too...never said it didnt..

and no there is not 5 powerbands there is 1 its X rpms through X rpms the gears just help you keep the motor running in that rpm range....

but what im saying is the kx never got into that rpm range and if you have rode a 2 stroke you know they dont make a whole lot of power down low or in the mid its all up high basicly the kx rider only used like 1/2 the bikes power due to his early shifting

  • oh i see but you can put it my way but yours is more resonable

  • most crotch rockets power bands kick in around 8k to 10k.

my zx6r's powerband starts right at 8k, but doesnt carry the kick like an r6 does when its hits at about 10k

  • i realy get how the powerbands works on 4 strokes i mean artn they pre tapped in when started or do it seems like that becuz how fast they rev?

  • nah just seems that way. ur lookin 600cc, wet weight of around 400 lbs., pushing 110 hp, its gonna be a beast. power to weight ratio

  • the 500 had 3 wheels

  • they both did

  • no hte kx was a three wheeler the bike had a wheelie bar, big diffrence

  • i think you might need to check your eye sight because in front of that wheelie bar, there is an axle with 2 wheels on it.

  • hahahaha yes!!! redneck sports are amazing!!! and im bein serious hahaha

  • lmao oops wrong vid srry

  • nice climb and nice landing, landed on your feet, thats tough

  • what the hell it lost because that third wheel

  • Damn, that 2 stroke stayed close. I'm sure it was a stock KX 500 engine.

  • that a dirtbike motor stuck in a quad

  • how 4 cylinders vs 1 cylinder, ummm

  • Did that 500 have 3 wheels? WTF!!!

  • it sure did

  • you should race them on the street w/ the kx 500 having TWO street tires and then see who wins...maybe not distance but it would ruin the crotch rocked at acceleration

  • 500 got owned

  • I would hope so. It's pretty quick tho.

  • 2 difrent bikes 2 diffrent purposes

  • Take the wheeliebars off the streetbike.

2 wheels on the KX, it would kill it.

  • anyone know how much a brand new 500cc 2 stroke engine would cost? not just a rebuild but the whole engine?

  • I think around the $ 4500

  • hate to burst your bubble kid, but they stopped making 500cc engines years ago.

  • nope, you can get one from service honda, theyl put it in a new 450 chassis for you, they just dont make the bikes themsleves anymore. you gots to order em.

  • They are called CR500 AF's. I am aware of them, but there are many differences.

  • check that again, service honda is making a kx500af now.

  • honda is makeing a kx500? dont you mean cr?

  • no its "service honda" there a group that started building the 500af and they call their self service honda. check them out (it wont let me type it) but it's servicehonda!!!!!!!!dot!!!!!!!!c!!!o!!!m

  • that looks like a pretty nasty bike...is it called the kx500af though? wouldnt it be the cr500af?

  • yeah they make cr500af but they are making a kx500af (it's a new project bike with kawasaki backing it)

  • That Tecate should have taken that rocket for at least the first 100ft.

  • what are you talking about? The Green one has 2 rear wheels, its a KX500 converted into a 3 wheeler

  • hahaha one of my friends just put kx 500 in his tecate 3 , its beyond fast now :D:D:D

  • KX500? Is that a tecate 3 with a big bore kit?

  • Its a Tecate 3 with a KX500 powerplant
