This movie is absolutely hilarious, the number of jokes I made watching it with my brother was absolutely through the roof. There are far worse ways to spend an evening.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Too bad the characters were superhuman in their expectations of what they were cappable of doing. Sad ending for allthose involved.

Wow, I knew it was kitsch but not THAT kitsch. Plus, the passengers inflate their life jackets while inside the plane... right in front of the flight attendant and she doesn't say a word! LOL

Planeguy13: 10 months ago I didn't know that. Then I saw a United Airlines safety video from the 1990s in which passengers inflate their vests inside the aircraft. But thanks for the reply :-)

Even if procedures were different, you are right in saying this was highly "kitsch" as you called it. It's a very entertaining and enjoyable movie. John Wayne hugging a teddy bear, along with plenty more unintentionally humorous scenes. It's still a very good movie though and I recommend seeing it.
Nothing beats the one scene in Zero Hour. "Hmmm, they had the fish" *nervous pilot* "Stuardess.... I HAD THE FISH TOO!"
