the fastest train in italy is frecciarossa (300km/h) fracciarossa is the etr500 (eurostar repainted an the italian railway have changed the carriage because the frist isn't omologate for 300 km/h

However, the speed record of a italian Elettro Treno Rapido (ETR 500-Y1) on 03.02.2009 is 362 km/h (Bologna-Firenze).
