@Guigley This is too true. Nobody thought Toy Story 3 should have been made until they saw it - at least, I didn't. Now I can't see the story without it.
I wasn't a fan of Cars - sure, it appeals much more to the younger audience, but I just don't see as much substance in it as I did in the other Pixar films. Hopefully, they will.
Pixar is the modern day Disney Feature Animation since they CONSISTENTLY make award- worthy animated classics that's filled with terrific scores, writing, characters, and obviously animation for literally all ages to enjoy just like what Uncle Walt did in the Golden Age. Except that Pixar has more original stories instead of mostly fairy tales and mostly does computer animation of course. Overall, I'm glad that there's another studio to keep making great cartoon features for a while right now.
@HardyRStudios In fact, Pixar now runs the whole Disney animation studio, which I have to say, so far has been dissapointing. Although Pixar continues to excel in their brand movies, Disney animation studios under Pixar management are still doing the same trite, cliched and formulaic movies. i had High hopes on Tangled, but it ended up being just another generic CGI movie.
robbin williams was makin fun of pixar saying they always lose at the oscars, then when he announced the award, it went to brad bird, who directed The Incredibles, a PIXAR film. that's the irony!
Plus, I like the fact that "The Incredibles" can stand on it's own as a great film.
I know people want a sequel to it, but it stands on it's own as a great work of art. Plus, I'm glad that PIXAR did not bastardize the film with a TV series, 4 unnecessary sequels, and a broadway show.
I am genuinely shocked. Several years on and I still think The Incredibles is one of the best movies of all time, animated or otherwise. Great characters, superb story, beautiful animation, fantastic action and drama - this thing had(s) it all!
i think i'm the only one who agrees with you on that, as much as i am a pixar fan box i just don't get it when people like those movies especially Cars i thought it was just downright boring and lame.
Pixar is owned by Steve Jobs or something who is also the CEO of Apple so he probably means that they can survive from selling iPods cause they didnt win the Oscar or w/e, lol i dont care but yeah thats atleast i think what he means :p
i think the moment is supposed to be this guys favourite oscar moment, cos its the closest he got to gettin an award himself. as for the rest of us. mind-numbingly mundane...
aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome! guy holding an oscar!!!!!!!!1 aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome!
Yeah, I'm not quite seeing the greatness either. It might have something to do with the fact that Apple owns Pixar but I guess I'm not smart enough to understand the joke :P
It's a model that they have, every year they have those.. they're sort of like hand maids who hold the nominees goodies (like an oscar, perhaps?) while they say their speech or try to hold themselves together.. in other words, they're kind of space fillers, haha.
I hope cars 2 wins this year

Seeing as how Pixar is the master of the sequel, they desperately need to do another "Incredibles." Why "Cars?" Why?

It was amazing. imdb it. It will show you what people thought of it (:
jerichok 2 years ago
I don't know about IMDB anymore. They have practically every good/ok movie that came out in the last decade in their Top 250 list.
Too many people see a movie and automatically go to IMDB and give it a 10+++ even though they don't deserve it.
I hate that.
fjl05 2 years ago 8
so fucking right. A friend and I were just discussing this fact the other day. IMDB has way to many noobs visiting these days...
