I was fishing at Wilcox Wharf off the pier and caught a 9lb blue catfish just the other day. They bight all year round, any time of the day.

The biggest and MOST blues come in the winter and then again in the spring with the shad run ! You can catch em all day long ...

they bite best in august , after the mating season, they are very hungry, eat almost everything then!

makes alott of since, hooked the biggest cat of my life last august in the potomac river, got em in close enough to see him then he snapped 12lb line like it was nothing

blues bite good this time of year when it's cold?

They bite all year round. This was my first experience fishing for blues in the cold. I mainly catfish for flatheads in the late spring and summer.

find deep holes next to shallow water and you found the big blues
