Terry is so amazing. I was only 2 when he passed, so I never had the honbring me of meeting him. I do know Dale, and that brings me a little closer to him. I love watching him and I learn so much! He sure can handle that bow! He is greatly missed and will be forever in my heart as the greatest fiddler.
Folks, my name is Paul. I'm from Texas but live in Las Vegas now and wish I had got into fiddling when I was growing up in the 70's-80's. There are no fiddle teachers here, or good fiddlers to learn from so we teach ourselves. I've been fiddling now for 3 years. I never knew Terry, but know people who knew him. When I first saw this videotape I was mesmerized not just by his obvious and incredible talent, but I enjoy seeing how much he enjoyed playing. I think I have another clip.
IN MY OPINION TERRY WAS THE KING OF TEXAS FIDDLING,AND I HATE TO SAY IT BUT ALL THE MORRIS FIDDLERS HAVE BEAT DICK BARRETT MANY TIMES,I SHOULD KNOW I'VE BEEN THERE,I LOVE DICK BARRETT,BUT WHOEVER YOU ARE ,DON'T TALK ABOUT A LEGEND LIKE TERRY,IF YOU DON'T KNOW REAL FIDDLING THEN DON'T LISTEN TO TERRY,THANK YOU ,,,,,techdisco TERRY'S SISTER
Hi, I'm guessing you are directing this towards me since my comment is apperantly controversial which I didn't mean for it to be. I guess instead of writing a short comment like I did, I should have explained myself because its being taken completely the wrong way. Terry Morris was one of the greatest players without a doubt. Someone posted that this was the best version of tugboat ever played.
Thanks so much,I guess to me he did the best at everything,I have so many wonderful pictures of some of his awards, trophies, ribbons, etc.I would love to share some of these pics if you are interested.
Tech-d, Many of us would love to see Terry memorabilia. Would you consider a MySpace tribute page for him? You could gather and share pictures, link to these videos, and post music clips. Plus you could connect with other people who love him. Go to myspace and search on slimgaillard or stuffsmith for an example of the kind of thing you could do. If you need help, write me offline, or just ask anybody under the age of 30.
The thought of making a myspace tribute for Terry never occured to me, but I would be more than glad to make one! It would be a honor to connect with other people who are fans of my little brother and it is great that people still love to hear him. He truely was the best. -techdisco
Thanks for emailing me,I didn't know about the other clips on this site.and yes the guitar player is Dale Sr.Thanks for having such a great ear for music.techdisco
XMS you must be a heck of a fiddler -- first you criticize Tommy Jarrell then Alex Depue and now the great Terry Morris! -- Dick Barrett CAN play a great Tugboat though....
I'm not criticizing the great Terry Morris in the least friend. All I said was he never played the best tugboat in my opinion. He was one hell of a fiddle player which Alex Depue and Mr. Jarrell never were. That's my opinion and i'm stickin with it.

I wasn't sure if they had a limited amount of versions to hear so I simply gave a suggested listening of another fiddle players version. That's all.

The guitar player sure looks like Dale Morris, Sr. to me. Where was this filmed? Thanks for sharing this! It's so great to see this!

Dale, Sr is on guitar. I believe it's filmed by and at Bartow Riley's in the late 80's.
