RC Car Controlled by Arduino and Xbox360 Controller

are you going to make the steering center its self? at the mo it looks like you turn and let the the controller stick go back to center but the wheels stay turned. thats not how the original controller would work. If the stick is centered the the wheels should be straight. driving it like this would be really tricky

good job. Did the same project but had failures in driving the dc motors end up using a pre-built brushed ESC to drive the dc motors. Next I slap a sensor to track the movements. What was the original H-bridge you were using?

How about a Wiimote?It's stock bluetooth and it must have some kind of memory onboard because you can carry your avatar with it.Also there is already some software in the standard linux/gnu repositories so you can use it or calibrate it for whaterver you want at your pc.So ill geuss its much easier to plug in a wide range bt dongle maybe with some sort of a omni directional wifi (bt) antenne to boost signals and and and and roflol.Want a rc car myself but dont want the stupid steering!!!

@JDX2010 Yeah, it would work on a petrol car, my only concern would be that you would shell out the dough for a nice car, rip out the guts, get frustrated with the project, and be out the money and a car. I had a car lying around, so it wasn't a big deal for me.

I would definitely recommend using Xbee radios rather than blue tooth. Check out a later video of the car by searching for Arduino Creeper bot. He is my project page, creeperbot.blogspot.com.

In the RC World, what you took out is called an ESC (Electronic Speed Control), and the steering is controlled by a SERVO.

@hustletv Apparently in the RC World, what he used is a 'Chinese mass production crap' RC car, I'm doing a similar project and building a safety system in it by using a sensor and overruling the PWM signals running from the receiver to the ESC, but I've got the same car and 'professional' RC cars haven't got any PCB's in them at all...
