  • eq??

  • @chrisd1000912 Check the vid at 2:17. Thanks.

  • That twang, omg, that made it for me.

  • @RyanPullin Thanks man. I'm a fan of that myself. lol.

  • got any tabs?

  • @METALUPYOURASS3996 Sorry man, don't do tabs.

  • wow first of all great video and great riffs! that tne is killer i have been looking into a vodoo mod for my 6505+ it sounds good as it is but i know it can sound even better! you said this was the delux mod? can they do this for the plus model i know its the same as the 5150II anyway your head sound great dude i think i will do the delux mod can they make it to my personal specs? im lookin for good low end response i want it to thump hard clear and brutal haha why not go for the plat mod?

  • @RedNBlacK951 Thanks for the kind words man. Yeah, they can mod it to fit your preferences. Just give Trace Davis a call and tell him what you're after. He will be honest and straight-forward with you. Great folks at Voodoo!! I'm actually looking to upgrade to the Plat. mod in the near future. Thanks again for the post.

  • @metalfan1212 no problem! your playing is great i enjoy all your videos but i noticed that the tone is rather marshall voiced in that it has the treble ''spike'' when the notes are plucked is that something i can chose not to have not that it sounds bad or anything just not for me i want a more full thicker type tone without that treble spike anyway again great stu do your thing bro

  • @RedNBlacK951 Yeah man, you can dial that out with no problem. I had the treble and presence cranked pretty high in this one. I was actually going for that type of tone. The amp is VERY versatile after the mod and believe me,,,, full and thick are two elements this thing thrives on. Thanks for the post and kind words.

  • Cool riffs... pretty sure I heard some Arch Enemy in there too ;-)

  • Thing sounds killer

  • @flexkill1 Thanks.

  • Does the bad monkey help alot getting that crushing mid range?

  • @ChaserHUN Very little actually. I have it barely driving at all. I like the tone of the BM so I'll use it from time to time. I like the od808 a lot better though. It's tighter and doesn't suck the bottom end like the BM.

  • nice dude!, how do you compare Voodoo to FJA?, im leaning towards Voodoo at this moment, just from your videos! I think the voodoo sounds so much heavier than FJA imo!

  • @ACLeftyGuitar Honestly, I've never played an FJA modded amp. I've listened to several clips of his work on youtube but nothing first hand. I can tell you this, Voodoo modifies amps for some of the biggest names in the business and I know first hand these guys KNOW TONE!! I had the deluxe mod done and it's the best sounding 5150 I've ever plugged into. It's brutal in every sense of the word. To top it off, Trace and the Voodoo team are a fantastic group of people.

  • If I were you, I'd call trace and explain to him the tone and character you're after. He'll be honest and upfront with you. Customer satisfaction truly is their goal. I couldn't be happier with mine. The gain is tight and smooth, the eq is ultra-responsive, the low end is punishing and the tone is just vicious. The mod capitalizes on the amps strong points and eliminates it's weaknesses if that makes any sense. lol. Let me know if you have more questions about the mod, I'd be happy to help.

  • @metalfan1212 Thanks mate, you have been more than helpful to me as you go to the effort of micing the cab and giving us a more realistic image of the tone. Ive seen FJA 5150 mod videos and there done with a camera mic so i dont think that does it justice. I hear that FJA mods the PV tone and makes it better, but Voodoo makes it into a whole different amp, which im digging a lot more than the normal PV tone!

  • @ACLeftyGuitar Hey, no problem man. The voodoo mod still harnesses the 5150/6505 character, it's just so-o much better after the mod. Better lows, mids, highs / smoother and tighter gain, much louder, less feedback, etc. The tone is extremely versatile now. You can dial in a chimey and pristine clean tone to a crushing 80's metal/hard rock tone to a brutal drop tuned modern metal tone. As you said though, you can make it sound like a completely different amp as well. Thanks again.

  • @metalfan1212 and when you said Voodoo mods amps for big bands etc, ive heard Adam D uses a Voodoo and uses it for bands he records which always sound amazing, anyway ill definately look into voodoo amps in the future!

  • @ACLeftyGuitar Yeah, they do work for Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard, Doug Aldridge, Five Finger Death Punch, George Lynch, etc. Just to name a few. Their website has a complete list of users and endorsee's. They also have several sound clips on the site of different amps and mods.

  • @metalfan1212 thanks dude, been a big help!

  • @metalfan1212 how does this amp sound at bedroom volumes? great vid btw!!

  • hey dude, cool video and brootal tone youve got there. did you ever play eminence governor with the 5150 and smiliar settings? i never played them, dont know anybody around whose got em, thinking about getting them cause im sick of that celestions at the moment.

  • @c4tze Hey, thanks man. I actually use eminence governors exclusively now. They're basically a V30 clone but I think they sound better and they're a lot cheaper than the celestions. Hope this helps.

  • @metalfan1212 have you tried any other speakers besides governors since you have gotten your 5150 modded??? if so which ones, and why do yo like the governors better??? besides the reason that there cheaper....lol.. ive got 2 WGS reapers and @ et65 in a x pattern.. and to me they sound sick a hell.. together.. but i have been up in the air about getting mine 6505 modded but your vids have change my mind totally..

  • @tc8849 Hey, thanks for the kind words man. I've tried several different speakers since the mod. Celestion G12T-75's, V-30's, G12L's, Eminence Governor's and a few others. I just like the tone of the gov. I like the G12T-75's as well but they are a little darker in the mids. Great highs and lows though. The gov is a good all around rock and metal speaker. The cab is just as (if not more) important than the speakers. You'll definately need a well built cab after the mod. The amp punches HARD!!

  • i guess u like arch enemy

  • Hey mate, this really sounds killer. Are you 100% satisfied with the mod? Or is there some aspect of the stock tone you miss?

  • @thrasher10000 Thanks man. I'm 1,000% satisfied. lol. It's unbelievable how much better the amp sounds after the mod. The original character is still there, it's just better, tighter, punchier, louder, etc. The eq is super responsive now. Also, the true character of other elements really shines through such as, pedals, guitar woods, pickups, etc. You can really dig in and tone tweak with it. There's no way I'd ever consider trading it for a stock model. Thanks again for the comment.

  • Hi sir, great tone ... I have bought a voodoo platinum 6505 and i don't know what cab to choose with .. Three choices: mesa stiletto 4x12, mesa oversized 4x12 or engl pro 412 (all with v30) .. What would be your choice for this amp ???

  • @dennispetrucci Hey, thanks for the comment. I would go with either of the mesa cabs. I like the engl line of amps but just never really cared for the cabs. The stiletto cab will give you a really tight, punchy tone. The oversized cab will produce a slightly darker tone with more low end thump. I'm actually using a custom made oversized cab now. Long story short, It's 2" deeper, 2" wider, and 2" taller than a Marshall 1960 with V30's and G12T75's in an X pattern. The bigger cab sounds amazing.

  • @metalfan1212 I've tried 4 different 2x12 cabs and 2 different 4x12 cabs and honestly,,,,, they all sounded great but with different qualities. It really depends on the tone you're after. For metal, I'd go for the oversized mesa or a Marshall 1960. If you're interested in building your own, let me know and I'll send you the exact specs of mine. Hope this helps.

  • @dennispetrucci Why not go for the Voodoo Cab? Supposed to be a superior cab, Both in construction and tone, Just put your fave spkrs in. Just a suggestion.

  • @musicman972 I'd love to jam through one. I hear they kill all other cabs. I actually custom build my own cabs. The one I'm using now is similar in size and structure to the Voodoo dual lead series cabs. But, I'd still love to get my hands on a voodoo cab. Those guy's KNOW tone!! Thanks man.

  • sick!

  • @wolfman109h Thanks!!

  • And how is the sustain? Because most people say a set neck guitar has a better sustain than a bolt on

  • Is the schecter omen extreme 6 a comfortable guitar to play?

    Great tone btw!

  • @ChaserHUN The most comfortable guitar I've ever played. The arched top helps a lot and the tone is phenominal. You will need to change the pickups though. The stock pups SUCK!! lol. The extreme 6 is a great "budget" guitar. It will actually hang with some of the most expensive, biggest hitters in the business. Thanks for the comment.

  • @metalfan1212

I have a Dimarzio X2N in my guitar, so I would put that in the bridge :)

  • @ChaserHUN That'll do it. lol. The X2N is a smokin hot pickup. Would sound amazing.

  • Hey Matt!!! When I lost everything the other day, I lost my original youtube account and had to create this one... Add me if you don't mind my friend...Still Killer sound dude!!!!!!!

  • @72cadman Will do.

  • now all i need is someone to give me a 5150 ii head for free hahaha.. killer tone dude

  • @duckinsubway lol. Thanks dude!!

  • it's really the best 5150 sound i heard on youtube,,

look forward more video from you .. the riff you made was awesome too.

you make me want to buy a 6534 XD ..

  • @neo69hk Cool, thanks for the kind words.

  • really sounds awesome...

but i saw everypoeple use 5150 with nosie gate ..

    does it necessary?

  • @neo69hk Before the mod, a noise suppressor was definately a must at loud volumes. Now, it doesn't really need it. The amp is really quiet. The Boss NS2 colors tone a little but I like what it adds so I still use it at times. Thanks for the post.

  • Matthew, that's just killer my friend. I'm thinking about gettin me a bass next week I hope.

  • @cad72drifter Thanks Bro. Let me know if ya' get your setup.

  • @cad72drifter Looks like a little longer wait my friend. Time's have been rough but one day we'll get there. Really enjoy watching these though. Killer tunes meands good times :=)

  • @cad72drifter Thanks Bro!!

  • That's heavy.

  • @TheGuitaristOfGod Thanks man.
