  • looks like you learned everything from youtube. I don't think you should be asking for money like that.

plus you still need to learn how to act or look more natural for your tutorials maybe some makeup.

and show you pictures, portfoli or videos. and then we will see if you are so good as you sell yourself.

  • Good job Ritwika! I have been shooting video for about a decade, and I just bought a 5D and figured watching a video about manual white balancing would be better than RTFM. Nice job on the physics explanation. All too often people don't know that blue is hotter than red.

To all those with insulting comments...really? If you don't like her videos, just watching something else.

  • 3:31 Fail zoom XD

  • people like you have the best things and do the worst shit! ..and why are you asking for money? ¬¬ check my video and lear how to do good videos with a 550d a tripod an low budget!!!

  • I think 18% gray paper is better than white. Because a bit overexposed white paper will be recognized as pure white even it is in slightly yellowish or bluish light due to overexposure. Gray can resist this problem to some extend in this case. It is a sensitive difference. I filled 18% gray in 12 x 8 photo paper with photoshop and got mat printed to use. Thank you.

  • Thanx for wasting my time. Get to the point I lasted 30 seconds

  • this is painful to watch. ur annoying, its so scripted, ur mum/dad has told you what to say.

  • Underprivileged artist my ass. You own a 5D and your probably still in school or something. Your loaded...

  • Ritwika, how many areas u r good at? amazing..keep it up.

  • god your a fucking idiot

  • is tht the place whr ur MIND is

    bravo

  • also does it matter if i have my lens hood on or off?

  • is this better then using the k-scale in live mode

  • very good videos and nice to see beauty as well as brains ;)

  • In film cameras one usually uses a film stock associated with a certain light - using filters is more for fine adjustment or a very cheap alternative to light specific stock.

  • awesome videos, good job!

  • I beleave part of that is incorect, the time of day does not deturmin color temperature, likght source does, the sun is one light source, so 1 color temperature, indorrs and outdors, such as if you set the inside it would be orange outside and and vs virsa with blue. but in those conditions outside you would need to white balance. as far as i know, but if im wrong please tell me so i know.

  • @manperson70 Light color is expressed in color temperature, so instead of saying orange, yellow or white, we express the light hue in color temp in Kelvin (watch the tutorial again). Does sunlight color remain the same from dawn to dusk? Does sun light has same hue in a cloudy day or a sunny day? Answer this and it will also answer your question.

    Thanks Merry christmas

  • @Manoj85 all of my photo gear is from Kinesis

  • A couple of questions from a secret admirer :O )

    1) Is there much difference in picture or video quality between a white sheet vs. an 18% gray card?

    2) Do you use the same technique for adjusting the WB during a wildlife shot at a long distance where you may not be able to get close to the subject? There can obviously be some temp diff between where you are and where the subject is (i.e. you are in shade and subject is in sunlight).

    Stay sweet,

    The Meltdownman

  • @meltdownman1 1) 18% Grey card is most useful for exposure calculation. For white balance I do not think one will be superior than other as camera computer is now trying to figure out the reference white color and then adjust the entire color of the frame accordingly.

    2) You are right, shadow light have lower color temperature than the direct sun light. Same happens if light gets reflected from a big patch of colored object. I adjust in post if necessary.

  • @meltdownman1 to answer question 2: it doesn't matter where you stand, it matters where your subject stands. And remember, if you are shooting a wide shot, the entire frame is your subject. But as Ritwika said, it can always be fixed in post!

  • Thank you, I buy at amazon and ebay, gonna check bhphoto and adorama. Keep the good work. God Bless You.

  • Your going to make the Sixth Sense part 2. Do you know the best place where to buy used equipment at a great price. I live in a underprivileged country. Thank You

  • @HondurasHD Well I do not know where to get pre-owned equipment outside US. The on-line stores where I buy my pre-owned stuff are: keh, bhphotovideo, adorama, community board of photo dot net, amazon and sometime from ebay. Hope this helps.

  • Wow. You are talented, intelligent, creative, witty and articulate.

Thank you for this tutorial, and also for going deep into color temperature theory.

    Keep up the great work!

    Gavin

  • I very impressed with the quality and presentation of your tutorials. Perhaps some of the best I've seen on you tube. Keep up the good work. I just finished a class on lighting at Lon Beach City College, and your tutorial on white balance and the Kelvin scale was spot on.

  • great job Ritwika...you guys are really steppin up your production value!! love this tutorial!

  • very well done

  • Wow! This is too much for me but I appreciate it nevertheless. :-)

    Thanks!
