The clamp actually hurts a lot worse, and it hurts when they pull your tongue out real.... but the actually piercing is like biting your tongue real hard, and then it goes away...

were i live, (UK) you can get piercings at 16 like any you want, but they are much more warey about tongue piercings, some places need photo evidence that you are 16b and other places wont do it without your parent there until your 18. :)

have you ever hit your toe on something? remember how much that hurts? well getting your tongue done hurts LESS than that.. so if you can deal with the pain from your toe, then you can deal with the pain from a tongue piercing. i absolutely love mine and would do it again if i had to (btw, if it grows closed and you do it again, it hurts like no other from the scar tissue!)

I got mine done a little over two months ago, and I didn't even feel it. The tongue is actually two separate muscles, and the middle of it has no nerve endings in it, so you don't feel it. It's just annoying to eat with the starter bar in, because it's so long. It swells a little and it's hard to eat for the first two or three days, but it's totally worth it.

BTW, tattoos TOTALLY hurt worse! My tongue was nothing next to my ink. The ink wasn't horrible, but the tongue was nothing.

It's extremely easy to take care of. If you have alcohol, you have to rinse your mouth out after drinking. Other than that, once the piercing is fully healed, the most care you have to do is just remove the plaque that builds up around the bottom bead.
